Where's everyone going for Memorial weekend?

We're from Michigan, both of us work and we have 3 kids from 14 to 8. I'll admit that our geographical location has turned us into great lake snobs. Lake Erie is our least favorite, but we're going to give it a fair shot over Memorial weekend.

We're going to Maumee Bay state park in Ohio on Lake Erie. Hopefully do the drive through safari close by.
It's been ridiculously cold so probably won't be able to swim, but Erie is shallow so we'll see how it goes.

Where's everyone else going?

We've got split plans.
It will be the first "real" outing for us since we bought the used motorhome. We are making use of the Thousand Trails camping pass given to us at the time of purchase, and we're heading to the Thousand Trails resort at Lake Conroe. We then head home for a couple of days to check on the chickens and cattle, and then we're off to Canton for the First Monday Trades Day weekend. I hear that Mill Creek Ranch Resort was spared from the destruction, as were most of the trades day facilities.
The DW is very excited. I have been working night shift for the last 45 days (4 on/1 off, 12-1/2 hour shifts). Tonight is the last night. A getaway is long overdue. It will take some getting used to traveling in a MH versus truck pulling a fifth wheel!

Headed to Lynchburg TN to visit Jack Daniels Distillery and the Beechcraft Heritage museum and squeeze in a round of golf or 2.... BUT.. not going until Memorial Monday and have a half full state park to stay in. Not bad by my standards.

I'm so surprised how many people say they stay home on holiday weekends. No way !! We are from Pa and travel to Lancaster county every holiday weekend. Only 30 min away from our home. Very easy traveling among the horse and buggies !!

X2 on Lancaster. Taking mom and dad along to hit Sight and Sound then general sight seeing.

It's mostly the retired that don't camp on holiday weekends.
Once you retire and no longer working the whole idea of a 3 day weekend losses its appeal and has no meaning/benefit

Wanted to go to River Ranch in Lake Wales FL over the holiday weekend and stay the following week...only 45 minutes from home. Have some things I need to do during the week, so can easily drive back when needed. Couldn't get a site over the weekend, so will go on Monday, Memorial Day, and stay for a week.

DC snobs in da house.

Gonna spend 5 nights starting the Thursday before Memorial Day in a hopefully bedbug -free hotel suite overlooking the WH with the Empress( DM), Princess (DGD) and the man.

I plan to order soft scrambled butter infused eggs, toast and tea EVERY morning and then walk it off on the Mall. If I no longer feel comfy wearing a bathing suit later in the summer, DC, will have been worth every minute.

And if the bikers get too political for my liking considering buying a can of spray paint and writing "HAHAHA!" on a sheet and hanging it from the balcony.
Hey. A grrl can dream.

Holidays don't make any difference here in Oregon. I just came from Beverly Beach last weekend. Mostly full except for the tent spots. It seems like everyone and their dog has an RV. Summers too short to never go on holiday weekends.
Going to Fort Stevens St Park.
