Membership ignored

This site has been improved so much it is ready to fall off the edge into useless. First the magazine was destroyed and then this site was made unusable. Along with all of that Good Sam (remember Good Sam, the group that started this site?) membership is now being totally ignored. It was, at one time, an option to show your membership status in your postings. First the life member indicator went away and then lots of posters who were no longer or never were members showed up as members. Now nobody can show they are members. This is not to be confused with the idea that I think this site is something to be proud of. 
 Considering the current rate of change towards this being a good site is slower than a snail in the freezer I feel it will be past my lifetime when this site actually has some glory. So sad.

Yup, just as I suspected. All the "let us know what you need changed" is nothing more than a stall tactic so the complainers go away and then nobody has to change anything. Been asking for opinions since day one and nothing has changed. Meanwhile, other forums are thriving and getting new members every day. Whooda thunk!

Marcus had control of RV.Net before Good Sam. He may have decided to cancel the contract for the magazine. During Covid 19 he may have had other costs to worry about and did nothing to improve RV.Net problems.

If the staff is truly interested in making this site better it is time that you looked at other forums. Reinventing the wheel will get you nowhere if no one likes it. There was nothing at all wrong with the old sit other than being written in obsolete code. 
 Look at IRV2 forums, Keystone forums and The RV Forum Community. All well liked, easy to use and used by lots of people that got tired of the Good Sam site that was deteriorating so much it was a pain to use. Whoever thought of the current format here was probably never near a good forum. I can understand wanting to stand out in the crowd but this site now stands out for all the wrong reasons. 
 There are many people here trying desperately to have a good site again. Sometimes it is better to admit a mistake and fix it instead of expecting us to get used to it. If the site fails it will not be due to members it will be due to "What is wrong with them? We love how we made the site" kind of attitude. Don't be an Edsall.

I want to apologize for the delay in my response here! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the community. I have taken note of everything you have said. I can tell you that I am working on several items that you have mentioned. As I am working towards some of these items I plan to keep you and this post informed.

Speaking of Good Sam. When you email them about an issue they never respond back. Even using the "email Marcus" link you don't get a response either. Poor customer service. Hear that Marcus?
