921 and 1156 LED Upgrade FAIL

I purchased these and these to put in my new camper. They do not put out enough light.

Any recommendations?

Five 5050 LEDs will not supply much light. You need at least 18 and 24 would be brighter.

All of our fixtures are marine and use a standard G4 pins. I have used one side SMD's. All of the light goes where we want it.

I replace all the ceiling lights in my trailer this past winter with these.
In addition, I replaced the regular bulbs in three fixtures with these cob style lights. I am very pleased with the color and light output. It is almost identical to the regular bulbs in color but a bit more light output.

The first linked LED doesn't have many LED's so will be dim. The second one purports to be 800 lumens, that's a lot of luminescence, equivalent to a 60W incandescent.

A search on th Forum will turn up many threads about LED's. FWIW, I installed 48 1210 SMD panels, bought from an ASian seller on E Bay. I'm real happy about the result and the price.

Check out diodedynamics.com. Not cheap but they work. I put a set of 924 fog lamp replacements in my Challenger. Very bright and useful light.

This was for inside the camper. Not on my truck.

I did 1157 amber LEDs on the front of a '97 GMC truck I had. The light output wasn't quite as bright as the incandescent bulbs, but it was close. They were in clear housings.
Only place I've ever got LEDs that I wanted to matter, was from SuperBrightLEDs.

This was a few years ago, and there are many more options available now. Look at your mounting depth, and how the socket is arranged (directly in the back, to the side), and do you have a reflector in the light housing that radially mounted LEDs could shine off of. You could also stick in some alum foil to reflect light from the backside.
