Cargo Capacity...?

We have limited storage and cargo capacity with our 24-footer and I'm always looking for ways to improve. I suppose if we had a 50-footer I'd still have that problem. Its probably just mental...don't worry about it.

I had already bought and used a cargo carrier and a bike rack from HF on my truck, but not simultaneously. But in addition to that, I couldn't just leave them alone.

I added magnetic towing lights on brackets which also carry reflectors. They attach magnetically but also have an elastic strap so they can move if they get bumped but won't fall off.

I had to adapt the bike rack since the carrier doesn't have an actual receiver. I make a wooden channel to fit in between. Observe the bike leans to the left. It seems all of them from HF lean this way. A liberal use of bungee cords keeps it all from thrashing around.

I also needed an electrical adapter for the wiring (from Walmart) to adapt the blade connector to the 4-pin harness.

Why is it crooked? Doubt it will last long. I traveled cross country using a swagman 3 bike hauler.

Keep in mind adding lights to the rear of any trailer is subject to the DOT safety laws. Lights have to be DOT approved type etc... Don't be surprised you may have to have those removed come safety inspection time.

You may want to consider just adding reflective strips in lieu of lights

These are probably OK. I would have liked to have brake lights in addition but the lights only have running lights and turn signals. I might have to come up with some additional brake lights in the future. The cargo rack partially obscures the turn signals on the RV which is why I decided to add. Note that I added reflectors, too.
