Have any of our rocket scientists come up with a diy
fuel gauge for the Honda 2000.

I have made a new gen box for the rear of my Toyota and filling the tank will be a bit awkward, without removing gen from box. Hopefully can find some kind of gauge?? I see nothing online.

You can buy a funnel with a float in it at Walmart. As the tank gets near full the float rises.

As for the EPA sabotaged nozzles, if you aren't careful your drill can slip and gut the bad nozzles. A 3/8 or 1/2" bit seems to be effective. However this still leaves a less than optimal nozzle. These work well tho: Spout. There is a type that works better but is no longer available. These are pretty good tho. You need vents too and you can get those from Amazon too.

I watch the level as I'm filling the tank. I've done that with all the EU2000s I've owned since the first one I bought back in 2001 or 2002.

I've never had an issue seeing the fuel level as I fill the tank.

With the newer environmental regโ€™s Iโ€™m seeing more & more small transfer pumps and siphons with a flow stop device on the end of the hose.

On a genny thatโ€™s not all enclosed itโ€™s an easy mod to add a T into the fuel line and run a piece of clear fuel line upwards alongside the tank to a vent tip, the gas will find its own level and create a sight gauge. Maybe drill a small hole and find a place to glue a length of line up the side of the case.

Thanks, what I see requires the cap to be in place, I would like to watch the level as I fill the tank with the cap removed or am I missing something?

Try an ATV tank gauge.
