We mainly boondock, so I only turn my HW heater on about 10-15 minutes before wanting to use hot water for showers and washing dishes. I also installed a thermostat on the HW heater. The factory 140 degrees is entirely too hot for me. But 90 is great!

I'm not wanting to spray straight 140 degree water to, "rinse things off," like my feet or the dog.
"If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane."

OK unless you have a Suburban brand heater with an anode ....

Should work fine if you are really careful of what is going to be very hot water, and you remove the whole assembly once a year or so to completely flush out the tank ....
