Started installing my Smart Tiles today and for those of you that have done it, what did you do about the furring strip at the corner?
Pics are attached.
Geez, and I thought houses were crooked!
Thanks!
Cheryl

Looks nice...I'd be interested to see how they hold up. My wife has these on my list of winter projects.

Ok, finished today. Not sure if I am thrilled with it or not. Should be interesting to see how it holds up. Today there were already some of the little strips I used to fill in spots that seemed to be coming up. Time will tell. If it doesn't work, guess I can put up a stainless steel splash.

Nice looking job! I am jealous - I did not get to it today since I was home taking advantage of the cooler weather today due to a passing "cold front" to work on the car. We expect temps to go back to the 90's this week.

If the only problem is the stips coming off and you like how they look I would stick them down with something stronger.

Good looking job. Hopefully the tiles will stay on the walls ok.

If not, there are other options. I used an aluminum splash with a baked on beige finish instead of SS.

Well, whaddayaknow ... I was going to finally tackle this upgrade today and I too have such a furring strip (did not know that is what it was called) but in the middle of the wall that I want to install it on. I too wondered what I should do and I was leaning towards butting up against it either side. I might still do that but I thought it was interesting that this thread popped up today. 🙂

Not sure what I am going to do either.
I saw a couple pics on this forum where people just left it. Mine kinda blends in with the tile color. My wall is so crooked though, might work out better if I take it off.
Mass confusion.
Will post pics tonight either way after I finish it today. Let me know how yours goes and post your pics too. Good luck. Enjoy your day!

If you plan on continuing the tiles around the corner I would just remove the furring for a smooth surface. Usually all it does is cover up a seam and you will be doing that. The strips are usually just stapled on so easy to remove. Sometimes you may have to cut along the edge with a knife if it is caulked. I would recommend holding on to the strip you remove. You may need it elsewhere sometime, and matching material is hard to find. Good luck

Yes, I am. Thank you. I wasn't sure wether to remove it or just run the tiles up to the edge of it. It is not caulked, so hopefully it will come off easily.
Thanks again!

I removed my strips and installed a stainess steel backsplash. Fit great.
