I tow 19000lb with my Duramax. It works well.

My Silverado 3500HD drops about two inches with the heavy pin weight. It looks level when towing like that.

I know many will disagree but I've always felt that if you need airbags, your trailer is too heavy for your truck. YMMV

My 2012 DMAX 2500 drops roughly 1.5-2 inches as well and tows great.

3.5 inch drop at the tires is a lot. My 2005 F250 Superduty dropped just over a inch at the back bumper when I put my 13K fiver toy hauler on it. Consider a set of Timbrens. They are cheap ($200) and easy to put on.

Congrats on the new toy hauler, they are a lot of fun. Yes, you will have less pin weight when your Harley get loaded into the back of the TH.

A Harley in New Mexico, the first place I'd go is the Coronado highway just inside Arizona. Have always wanted to ride that.

For a GM HD 3.5" drop is not really a lot. The rear ends are much higher than Ford or Dodge.

I hooked up to my parents 5th wheel 2 weeks ago with my 2015 2500 ram and it dropped 3" and squatted level.

Totally agree with what NC Hauler is saying.

Air bags or not, tow ratings are tow ratings.

Why does one use the "dry weight" when trying to figure what tow vehicle they need? The TH OP is looking at has a GVW of 16,500#..NO ONE tows empty or dry......now maybe he'll fill TH to max, maybe not, but if loaded to 15,000#, odd's are the pin weight would be 3000#.....If loaded to 16,000#, pin weight could be in the 3200# range...

I don't think I want to wait until "after the purchase" to go out and weigh the combo...Sure the D/A combo is more than enough to handle the load....but it's the SUSPENSION that will have to carry/ handle the load....What is GCWR of OP"s 2500....What is weight of truck and loaded 5er going to weigh, and what is his GCWR? What is his rear axle weight rating...

I hate to tell someone, just like the sleezy salesman, "sure your truck can tow it", and then OP finds out he's wearing out suspension, or possibly overloading his rear axle....

I'd want more answers before I purchased a 5er that the truck may have issues with.

I'd do a little more research with trucks rear axle weight rating....Weigh the truck ready to go camping, wife, kids, pets, whatever, then whatever the truck weighs, subtract that from it's GCWR to see how heavy your total combo would be with TH hooked up...Also take weight of "drive axle" and subtract that from your trucks rear axle weight rating..Difference will be how much pin weight you can put in the bed of your truck...IF you don't have a 5th. wheel hitch, add 200# for that on top of weight of truck...

I'd want to make sure I had all my ducks in a row before I took the salespersons word for it...after all, they DO want to sell you an rv.

Had to of dropped more than 1.5" to be on overloads. I pull a smaller/lighter 5er than you with same truck and get 2.5" of drop when hooked up fully loaded. Probably want to measure again...

X2...Rode real nice. When on the overloads with my truck I could feel just a little bit of extra road/suspension vibration in my seat bottom. Nothing bad, but completely gone with 35-45 psi in the bags and off the overloads.

That is quite a bit. My 3500 drops about that when I hook up my 342. I am on the overloads at that point. I don't like the feel of driving on the overloads, so I fill the air bags to 35-45 psi and enjoy the ride. You will probably get some bags or timbrens back there before you know it.
My 2012 durmax drooped 1 1/2 inch when I measured it with the 311 impact toy hauler. I pulled it 100 miles from the dealer, I was impressed how much power the durmax has 65 mph with cruse on driving the long for ever hills of N M. I was on the over loads and could feel it. Will air bags take it off the over loads? I had a little bit of roll but not much Is that meaning Im on the over loads? there again I wont know till I load my Harley and gear in the garage. thank you

I was at my dealer today and he had me hook up to my 36 ft impact and measure the truck tire to the top of the wheel well it was 10 1/4 inches, when he lowered the 2800 lb impact my truck doped 3 an 1/2 inches it looked level. he assured me when my Harley and gear was loader in the garage the hitch weight will be less. the cool part he told me I didn't need air bags. I'm now a proud owner of a 2015 keystone impact.

Yup 2800 lb pay load. With the 900 lb Harley and other gear would that change the hitch weight much?

No. I put 3800lbs worth of toys in my trailer. With full water and toys, my pin weight goes UP 900lbs.

Congrats on the new rig. Recommend you get it weighed once loaded up to see where you are. Be interesting to see what your rear axle weight is at
