So we have been shopping for a GD 397TH and have a price quote of $83K (msrp $108K) for a 2017 model with generator, and all typical options... What do you guys think of the price???
Thanks for your input:)

We love the floor plan also - has the love seat and dinning table in place of the long sofa.
Still haggling - got a great deal from them on an auto slider hitch and are now talking upgrades - bearings repacked with new seals, disk brakes vs drum, tires, etc... This forum is great, able to research and discover potential problems before they occur!
Cheers:)

I just pulled up the floorplan and that's a real beauty. Our floorplan is similar and we absolutely love it. We have a second couch (fold out bed) where you have the second bathroom. Otherwise they're pretty similar.

That's a big investment. We wouldn't have bought ours except we got a killer deal on a 2015 show model. We couldn't pass it up.

Are you getting the big couch or the dinette?

Keep haggling until you get the deal that makes sense. A model that big isn't going to just fly off the lot. Plus it's the end of the season where you live, so the dealer will probably be willing to bend enough to sell the inventory.

Good luck.

True - I am waiting for an April 2017 delivery to get a 2018 Host model. My Weekend Warrior was a 2006 model although built in May 2005.

That's a game you can play forever. And in the RV world it's about to flip again. They will be calling them 2018's by mid Jan builds.

There is a huge difference in a 16 over 17. Talking an entire year of depreciation.

Minimum of 30% off MSRP or walk away. Plenty of other dealers out there that will do 30 plus %. Also there probably isn't much if any difference from the 16 and 17 but insur and usually plates would be less on the 16.

Thank you for the input thus far... We think we can get the dealer down under $80K, at some point I guess you have to decide if it is important to you to buy local (easier to get PDI items addressed as well as any items that may/will need fixing later before we go full time in July). There are not many 2017's around locally as the 397's are selling well. The local 2016 397TH models we have looked at have gone thru several rv shows and look a little abused - yet are not much less expensive (mid to high $70's) than the 2017 397TH which just arrived on the lot (diff dealers).
Tempting to go with a voltage or cyclone as the dealers are much more willing to deal on these - Grand Design currently has a great rep, the dealers know it and are less willing to negotiate.
We will hit the dealer Monday afternoon and see what we can do with the price/negotiations on the GD397TH...
Cheers.

There's no reason you shouldn't get 35 percent off MSRP.

A good GD dealer will sell at about 66% of the MSRP. Look at the sticker...

That's high.
We were quoted $68500 on a '17 model with all options, tires, dual pane windows, 3rd ac, heat pump, genset, extra awnings, patio/deck set up, etc.

I don't know how much money you have to pend, but if you are happy with that price, buy it. If not, offer less. Price probably isn't carved in stone.
