2018 Montana HC 345RL Delamination

We have a new 2018 Montana HC 345RL. Right after it was delivered we noticed some Delamination just above the outdoor kitchen door about a 8x3 inch spot. I contacted the dealer and was told that the right people would be notified. I haven't heard anything back yet. I figure on Tuesday I will contact Keystone to see what kind of support I get.
I am not familiar with Delamination and wonder if its repairable at a shop or has to go back to factory. Anyone with experience in this sort of thing.I thought we looked the unit over real good, don't know how we missed it. I would attach a picture but not sure how to do that. Sorry.

While it's possible the factory did a bad glue and vacuum job, it is also possible you have a small leak causing the delamination.

Make sure everything is sealed so it doesn't get worse.

Don't trust the dealer on anything, contact the manufacturer immediately.

From experience Keystone will not deal with you directly. They have a canned response they give out every time if you're actually able to contact someone, and the person you do contact if you hit the lottery will be a dedicated email/phone answerer, probably from a staffing agency who knows nothing. "Please visit your dealer" will be the response. Don't waste your time trying. They will not deviate from the policy and anyone who claims otherwise is full of it. It was not that way prior to around 2013.

I agree with "ksg5000"! It's a big deal. Patching delamination is just that a patch. The reason for the delamination is probably moisture in the luan, and most likely from a leak in a seam.

I believe we should boycott the use of wood backed fiberglas in RV's. Especially when better materials like Asdel is available!

Everybody has their hot buttons - delam is mine. If I purchased a new rig that develop delam I would be pushing for a replacement. It's akin to cancer - it might be treatable but anyway you cut it it's a big deal and you buy NEW to avoid delam.

I have a Keystone Challenger fifth wheel that developed a 3x8 oval delam spot. I took it to my dealer and they repaired it. You barely could see where they fixed it except for the area had to be painted to fix it and you could see the gloss of the paint versus the fiberglass texture. Last year it came back with hairline cracks around the whole oval area. I am going to find a graphic to put over it to cover the cracks. Just letting you know that spot may come back later but without the bubble of the delam.

Thank you the good replies. I will get in touch with dealer Tuesday and see if a work order has been generated along with pictures.
This is on the curb side slide out that has the outdoor kitchen and dining table.

...and make sure you check around the rest of the trailer for any other signs of delam...

Good luck with it and get active..don't let them wear you out by slow rolling it.

Make sure dealer sends in a work order, without a work order Keystone support won't do anything but record your complaint. Many dealers are lazy in that respect.

Also make sure the dealer sends pictures of the defect, again Keystone won't do anything without proof.
