Pix for tailgate
Admins, if you feel like this fits in a different spot feel free to move it.
I have wanted to get a tailgate. Found one on craigslist, a Stromberg Carlson, that comes from a 2009 GMC. I am thinking it would fit my 2002 Silverado... Need some help here to verify.
Thanks for any help here.

A 2009 GM tailgate will not fit a 2002, they did a major body change mid 07, which is why they had the 07 "classic" and the "07"
Too many geezers, self appointed moderators, experts, and disappearing posts for me. Enjoy. How many times can the same thing be rehashed over and over?

Took my tailgate off years ago and never cared to have one back on. I have a 2X4 cut to the correct length to stop **** from sliding out the back and thats all I will ever run again.

Now that you post this I think you are correct... DARN!!!

I am really looking to find one a bit less expensive, if at all possible...

I dented mine and found one in a semi-local junkyard. It was in pristine condition, the same color and even had a sprayed on bed coating. So check your junkyards, they all seem to be connected via the net nowdays and can search for the right tailgate. Oh, the important thing about mine it was $500 less than half what a new one costs.
