Arctic Fox frame manufacture

Does Northwoods Arctic Fox build their own frame or by from another company?

If you have a Lippert frame and you have movement in the pin box, you might want to check the welds where the pin box is welded to the trailer frame. Mine had 4 broken welds each about 4 inches long. When we pulled the underbelly off around the pin box, we also found that the front cross member that the pin box was welded to was completely broken through. If you shine a light up into the area around the pin box, you should be able to see the welds. Still going round and round with Keystone on this. According to an insurance appraiser that specializes in rv repairs, this is a common problem with Lippert frames.

The ONLY Fox's not built on a Northwood frame where those built at their (now defunct) east-coast factory over a decade ago.
Those are (old) Lippert frames, built to Northwood specs

Yes, they are indeed painted but almost no prep is done. They paint right over the mill scale and weld scale and no paint can hold up that way.
NW makes a superior product, I'm getting a 32A this week, but they could do better in some regards.

Thanks. It seems we might have Lippert frame issues on our fifth wheel. We just returned from a trip to Alaska and Sacramento and have a list of repair items. Most serious is vertical movement of the pin box.
Ah heck, it's just cash flow. Right?

They build they're own and I can tell you after looking very closely at them, they are nicely done. Even the trailer hitches on the back are heavily braced.
The only thing that's a negative is they don't seem to powder coat them like some other brands and they will develope surface rust.
