ATC 25 ft toy hauler w front bedroom

Anyone have an ATC 25 ft toy hauler with front bedroom? Seriously considering one to haul my Harley Road King. Wanting to buy shortest trailer possible, but having reservations about a 20 ft with Happi-Jac bed sleeping over the bike. Also can’t decide if the generator/fueling station is worth the $7750? Will be towing with a low mileage 1996 Ford 7.3 diesel 3/4 ton 4 WD. Any words of wisdom from experienced users?

I am going to place my order in the next day or two; 24 x 8.5 no bedroom. I have a sidexside and motorcycles so I need the room. Usually just me so the happijac bed should be fine. 19 week build time.

Opitons gen/fuel station, airline track, happijac, dinette w/2 extra cabinets over it, Maxxair, solar, extra Battery (so will have 2 12v; probably go with 6 volts in a few years)

I am back and forth on the spray foam insulation - would rather keep the underside easy to work on. Are carpets and socks enough to keep it warm. Live in Socal so don't camp much below 40 degree at night.

Form current owners Is there anything that you wish you would have added/changed after having it for a while?

Thanks for any info

Anyone have an ATC without the additional four inches of growth me clearance? If yes,
have you had problems with the water tank dragging?

If you haven't made up your mind yet you might also look at the Lance toy haulers, haven't heard any issues with them as of yet. Lance seems to be a good quality manufacturer.

ORV is in LaGrande, and about a rock's throw from Northwood, who makes Arctic Fox, Nash, and of course the Desert Fox TH. Both will schedule a plant tour if you wish.

I may have muddied the water a bit, ORV doesn't have a toy hauler, but the construction of the trailers is similar, and I liked the ORV video better as far as a visual for build quality. ORV was started in the old Fleetwood Wilderness plant by Ron and Sherry Nash, Ron of course also connected with Northwood.

One of the benefits of the Desert Fox is the insulation. You may never get to the desert, but you'll enjoy the tough suspension and frame, and insulation works well year round.

As much as I like the ATC, I would wonder about thermal transfer in different climates and temperature extremes with all aluminum exterior and interior.

I checked out the video on the DF 21 foot. I think we will need more room now that we're getting a bigger truck. I looked at the 25 and 27 foot DF, and really like them too, but they are just about as expensive as the ATC. That Outdoors RV looks pretty well built too. I've never seen one of those. If I knew where in Oregon the factory was, I might go check them out. I'm in Oregon too.

Here's a walk-through of the 21SW.
Desert Fox 21SW

A construction video from "cousin" company Outdoors RV, should have similar strength and features for the Northwood Desert Fox, as I have read they get their frames from the same place, and share design/construction systems for efficiency in manufacturing

I haven't looked at the Desert Fox, but other people have told me the same thing. I'm still talking to the ATC dealer, but having a difficult time getting it configured the way I want.

I'm also worried about spending an extra $20k to get all aluminum. I know it's much more durable, it won't rust or rot, but if I get a late model very clean used conventional built toy hauler, can I keep it maintained well enough to prevent those problems? With a slightly used toy hauler, I won't lose as much value when I buy it. If I spend $30k instead of $50k, I won't have as much of my money tied up in it, and stand to lose less when I try to sell it someday.

Interested in knowing what dealer you ordered from.. I have also researched to exhaustion and really like the ATC, especially the options to build it to your needs. I have also found ATC to be really responsive to questions. Personally i would opt out of the generator and get the solar package.. I have done a little pricing and have found a bit of dealer price variation.. I would want to pick it up at the factory to get the best PDI and to actually see the construction.. I am also impressed with all the owner feedback. There's been virtually no dissatisfaction. Buying used is not a great option since both the kitchen area and windows have been enlarged, making it even more attractive.

You will love it. Congratulations.

Agree, I also found some info on horse trailers where corrosion was occurring due to moisture trapped beneath rubber pads on the aluminum decking for an extended period of time. I just pulled the trigger on a 25’ and did not include the insulation.

hvac - thank you for for your posts and replies. It’s helpful to hear from an owner!

I just like the way it looks on the underside w/o insulation. The sheer quality of welds and all shiny metal. Plus you can see everything for any repair or diagnosis. But, if in colder than freezing often get it. Doing it later will be difficult.

I'm probably going to order one in the next week. I've been so intent on researching, that I think I need to take a step back and breathe for a few days before I bite the bullet. I've eliminated some of the options trying to get the price below $50k, but it wasn't easy. One that I took off my list was the floor insulation. I think it could be applied later if I find that I need it, and possibly not be so expensive. I'm trying to eliminate items that can be installed later.

ATC says that one of the most popular options is the "Airline Track" in the floor, so that you can place tie downs wherever they're needed. I don't really need that, since D-rings would work well for me, but since the track can't be added later, and I think it will help me sell the trailer someday, I'm probably going to get it.

I just need to think about other subjects for a few days, and see how I feel about the cost of the ATC after that.
