Black or Grey Tank Dump Valves?????

We recently bought this '05 Outback 28FRLS 5th wheel and were doing a orientation walk thru with the salesman when I asked where the dump valves were. On our past trailers they were always very near where the sewer hose hooked up but are no where to be seen on this 5er. We followed the drain pipes back until they disappeared into the belly and looked in the storage area as well but didn't see anything. I know they have to be there somewhere and the salesman said he would find out but my curiousity wants to know now. Anybody have an idea where the valves are?

Want to say thanks for your responses. My computer has been down for a couple of days and now the RV dealer is closed for Easter weekend so I'll have to wait till Monday to check your suggestions out on my 5er.

I do know there is nothing like what your picture shows. The dump connection is near the front of the slide and the black tank pipe goes forward about 4' before is disappears into the enclosed belly and the grey water pipe goes rearward about the same distance before it also disappears into the belly. There are no holes in the belly for anything in that area.

A little OT but back in the day I had my heart set on buying a fifth wheel until I saw that you just about had to get on your hands and knees to reach the dump valves. On one real high end one they were WAY underneath where you would literally have to crawl to get to it. AND IMHO these underneath sewer connections are exposed to being knocked around if you went over anything on the ground.

That's why I finally went with enclosed sewage bays above ground.

How many of you guys have hit something damaging these under the belly sewer connections?

My Outback is a bit newer, and it's a TT, not a 5er, but it does have the enclosed underbelly. The valves handles look like this (below). My biggest fear is, if the handles become unscrewed at the end of the shaft that's inside the underbelly, I'm screwed! I have a feeling the handles are missing on your's. They should look something like this, most likely:

Here's a brochure that shows it has a completely enclosed underbelly.

That's pretty typical of most 5th wheels today. Valves are usually above underbelly with cable controls extending somewhere reachable to empty tanks.

Sounds like that salesman needs an "orientation" before he proceeds to give the buyer one. 😞

OP: If this guy doesn't know where the dump valves are, absolutely do NOT use him for your walk thru. Make that dealership give you a qualified person to perform you walk thru BEFORE you take delivery. See the general manager.

Other than that congrats on your new to you RV. :C

Does that rig by chance have 'electric dump valves' operated from inside RV ????
