Well some states charge an excise tax as part of renewal that is based on the current value of the unit.

Wow!!! I feel blessed now. When I purchased of 5th wheel there was the usual sales tax (approx. 6%) and a one time license fee of $50 for a permanent license plate. Now we do pay a yearly personal property tax to the county but it isn't to terrible.

Wisconsin must be the place to be:
2022, 30' KZ Sportsmen $15.35 yr. for '23/'24. Our old jayco 5th (26ft) was the same.

We live in Florida and my tag renewal for my F350 and Solitude 390RK was on $145. Those with the higher renewals, check to see if they are ad valorem taxes. It might be time to change states 🙂

I had the same experience with my 5th Wheeler in MS. It's a state by state taxable deal. Less state sales tax means more Vehicle / Road Use tax! Good Luck with you next years bill.

We just renewed ours here in PA. Our annual registration was around $130. Because our unit is over 13,000 lbs we could get a permanent tag for just over $500. We made the switch. Everybody that intends to keep their units for a while should check if your state offers such an option.

Reneewed my tags yesterday. $287.14 on a '17 FW, manufactured in '16 and purchased in '18. One year. Could have saved $54 and change if I'd done 2 years. BOHICA... (Bend Over, Here It Comes Again)

Wow. I guess we have it pretty good in AB Canada. I think I paid something like 80 to register our 5ver and it is a lifetime fee. Our trucks and cars are about the same price but have to be renewed annually.

Here in AZ, you're limited on the # of times you can buy them, just to keep people from doing exactly this.

In WA anyone can go to DOT and purchase a 3 day trip permit. It used to be $15, not sure what it costs now. Totally legal to NOT license your RV and buy trip permits. Used to do so when WA had insane tab fees.
