First trip Ever

What I did not tell was our 2nd night out on the road. Day 2 after leaving Maryland on our first trip ever. Pulled into campground in Achula Florida starved near to death because Hubby doesn't want to stop so we had picked up a sub at subway and only eaten half of it. I got out to walk the dog and when I came back Hubby was not pleased to say the least. The levelers would not come down and the slides would not go out. People at the campground all came to help but we couldn't get the slides out. Have a center island so we were all squished. Hubby climbed over and got food for the 2 cats and the 75 lb. golden retriever and we managed to climb into bed with the 2 cats and the dog stretched out in the walking space by the bathroom. We ate the rest of our subs from lunch. Got up the next morning and had a nice shower at the campground fed the dog and 2 cats and off we went. We tried all the fuses, circuit breakers but to no avail so decided to limp into Camping World about a mile from our permanent campground. Day 3 was more of an adventure but will save that for later.

Could be worse. After I pulled away in northern MI last year, I saw the 5er starting to slowly sink to the ground. Lost two quarts of fluid but fortunately it was just a loose fitting.

Another reason not to like hydros. 🙂 Personally, I've swallowed/breathed enough hot hydro oil for 2 lifetimes; don't want to deal with any more.

We like many others, that it's frustrating when things happen like that, but remember it's all part of the learning curve. Not to mention its something you laugh about in the future. Good luck and Happy Camping !!

welcome to the world of RV's - you need to be someone who enjoys to tinker with stuff to enjoy this IMO as RV's always seems to be in the need of small repairs or adjustments. What you've experienced here is just new RV teething pains, once they get sorted out you should be able to get back to enjoying your new rig.

Happy camping!

I assume that they worked before you left home. I agree with Old Biscuit. Sounds like a simple fuse or circuit breaker. Sometimes those are hard to track down. Good luck and enjoy Florida.

Power to slides and levelers are feed DIRECTLY off of batteries.

Could be as simple as 'battery disconnect switch off' OR tripped DC Circuit breakers that feed power to each. Typically very close to battery compartment and would have one on each power wire to slides and to levelers.
Most are auto resetting BUT some have a manual reset button....very small tab on side of CB
Is it time for your medication or mine?
