Well, we just suffered through a Flood here in East Texas!
The end results from our flood is that I guess we are done being Full Timers!
Six years of traveling and seeing America...absolutely awsome!
We RVed many years prior to, and camped many more years before that...
We suffered through a Flood and as a result, our Flagstaff 5th wheel, my F250 SD, MDWs Van, my son's truck, and their house...ALL totaled.
My wife has decided it's time for another home in town.
We should close in about 10 days...
Just wanted to say this is a great board and your help at times, great!
Travel far, enjoy the scenery's and live life to its fullest!
Take care!
Just another day in Paradise!

like the others: Sorry for your losses and thankful for the safety and well being of the family. Maybe all will work out and a small rv just for some summer road trips could work out for you. but whatever you do, be happy. Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !

Sure...Insurance helps.
.but know that no contents are covered when your RV or Vehicles go through a Flood unless you have National Flood as well. We had a major carrier that was good for the vehicles...but told us that content only applied under Fire or Lightening, Nothing else...but yes, it helps!

Let me explain for you, lol!
We happened to be 9 hrs away in a cabin with my son and his family.
We received a call at 6:30 am telling us that water was getting into our homes.
By the time we drove back home, the water got to 39.5 inches in the house.
Our van had water up almost to the steering wheel. My son had water in the door cupholder in his Ford.
But thanks for trying to understand we just didn't sit there watching our life's collection, float away.
The flood got out of the banks at 3:00 am and was in the houses by 6:30 am.
First vacation my son had been on in 6 years, lol!
To all the fellow RVers...head on out and see something for us!
PS...my wife volunteered at several State and National Parks as well as the Army Corp Parks. Loved it!

You don't have to explain..

I don't get how your truck and trailer could have been totaled in a flood ... :h

They have wheels on them don't they? ..... you couldn't move them?? ....:h

Sounds like the welfare of the extended family was put ahead of the welfare of the rig. Nothing wrong with that in my estimation. It sounds like he didn't lose any family members. ๐Ÿ™‚
