GOT MY (LT) MAN CARD.....I did IT!!!!!

Today.....I pulled the new MAXXIS M8008 off my Raptor :S and become official member of the (LT) TIRE BOYZ club today by mounting up...... 7) new BRIDGESTONE DURAVIS R250's 235/85R16's

ps...please dont start tire war here - just postin this for fun because I went from the Maxxis's to LT's in 3 days.:B thanks


I put the Maxxis on 2 of my other trailers.:)

Not an LT tire but on my 15" wheeled trailer I use Maxxis tires. So far they have served me well.

Not having tires separate and grow bubbles in the sidewalls virtually every trip is what made Us do the change, have not looked back either.

Wider tires are not better on a trailer. The difference in profile is minimal
Diameter of the 3 tires are
235/80 = 30.8
235/85 = 31.7
245/75 = 30.5

I would have went with the taller tire over the wider tire myself. However I am not sure it will matter that much in reality. May have some premature wear from scuffing.

in Billings, MT & nobody carries them.

Worst case, order them online and pay someone local to mount/balance them.

Not disputing you on the 5 retread cycle information but I don't see a retread "cap" product in the GY Truck Retread Application Guide. I also don't see anywhere in the G614 documentation a casing or retread guarantee. The G614 Warranty is only for 4 years from date of purchase with receipt and 4 years from sidewall date of manufacture without documentation. There is no mention of a casing credit guarantee that I can find.

....Premium GY Unisteel Medium/Large truck tires indeed have a casing and retreading guarantee for 7 years-provided you use a Goodyear Authorized retread provider/process.

You will like the R250's! I have them on my dually and they are wearing much better than the REVO II's and BFG's. Just be careful in the rain as they do not like it and will lose traction quite easily.

3042 @ 80 psi in single tire application like this triple axle trailer. Dual tire(dually) applications are a little lower capacity.

so....252 pound reserve on a toy hauler. I paid just over $30 more per tire for the G614's @ 3750 (110psi)on our rig and have a 4500 pound reserve. based on a 18K rating. Our rig has 7k axles on it, no way I would be happy with that little margin. But hey anything is a step up over China bombs 🙂 They look like a good tire, just not my choice.

If you got G614's for $270-$280 a tire -you did good! Most are paying $330 and up for that tire. 17.5 rubber and a wheel would be my direction at the $330 a tire mark.

Thanks Everybody....Leaving in the morning for Memorial Day camping weekend....sure feels good to know I good rubber rolling behind me. Thanks for the help/suggestion on the LT tires. :B
