I'm with NYRVer. If it took all day to back out of there it would still be less expensive and less down time for my RV.
The lesson would still be learned!

Before you start throwing stones, you should learn to spell Moron :S

Maroon
A term of derision often uttered by Bugs Bunny when referring to an interaction with a dopey adversary. It is a mispronunciation of the word "Moron"
"What a Maroon!" "Will ya get a load of this maroon"

I'm thinking he put you in your place! How does it FEEL to be corrected?
Guess I should have spent more time watching Bugs Bunny (which I hated).

May you drop your wheels in the ditch someday ๐Ÿ™‚ Then you can feel what it's like to be called a Moron/Moroon when having one of the worst days of your life.

Well did you carefully watch the video??

Did you see the very small stone tunnel he drove through first??

All I can say to that is What Was He Thinking!!! I know what height and width I need for my truck and trailer. No way he should have attempted to go through that tunnel. That is why all TV are equipped wit a reverse gear. Stated in the other thread, once drove into a dead end on the WSU campus in Pullman, with a 20' TT looking for camping space for Apple Cup, ended up backing up about three blocks before being able to turn around.

I also stated in the other thread on this video, I once met a 50' semi on the N67 in Ireland near Galloway, this section has several switch backs with tight 180 degree turns, yes he needed both lanes, but he wasn't having any issues.
On coming traffic is no issue for turning tight, you either wait for a break, force one, get someone to stop the oncoming for you.

Watch this for more "What were you thinking" moments!

If you read the comments below the video the owners wife actually explains how they got into that pickle.

I agree though, after watching it with my wife, I told her that I didn't care how long it would take, I would have put it in Reverse at the site of the first tunnel even if it took all day to back up.

It looks very similar to a road in the Royal National Park in Sydney that has corners like that. I did see a 30ft Caravan go down through bends, not my idea of fun.

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

x2

Tunnel 5 is 8'-4" wide, and 12'-0" high, I would hit sides and top.

We were there a few years ago, and I rode with a friend in his pick-up. I got out to photograph it, and wanted I him to drive fast so that I could get sparks coming off his side mirrors.

That is so sad! Feel bad for those folks. Had a few surprises on hairpin turns myself while on a road I shouldn't have been on.
