They don't have D rated 8 ply tires for my tire size, ST205/75R15.

Do I....

A. Go with a different brand, if so, what?

B. Move up to the ST 225/75R15s which do come in a Goodyear Marathon? Will they fit on my same rims?

Help please!

Carlisle..... LOL

Folks that have been around for a while will never trust those.

I saw my buddy replace 4 tires on 1 trip.

No thanks.
I might put them on my wheel barrow.

I would run the Maxxis.

I'd look at the Carlisle Radial Trail HD and the Endurance. I think both will be readily available at Discount Tire Shops.

We just had a good year marathon come apart and another produce a bulge. All were under 3 yrs. Had been covered when parked. We were lucky little damage to camper and we were not hurt.

TireRack seems to have Endurance. Definitely the tire is out. First batches went to OEM installs.

Thanks everyone. Maxxis look good, and maybe better for the fire service roads I like to be on. Might see if anyone has that new Goodyear tire, if is available yet?

I know some have had good experiences with Marathon tires, but mine has been miserable. Doesn't seem to matter if they were made here, Canada, or overseas.

Personally, I will not put them back on any trailer I own. I have moved to Maxxis and Carlisle on my boat trailers. Both have performed better than the GY.

Goodyear now has a new ST tire called Endurance.
Made in the U.S. and has a 87 mph rating.

A. Well.... on dot/gov tire complaints the Marathons are #1 in ST tire complaints so just about any ST would make a replacement for a Marathon.
If I was going with a ST tire the new Carlisle RH or HD are popular. The Provider has been getting good reviews on all type of trailer websites.
Maxxis ST8008 seems popular on some rv websites.
Some folks have gone to a LT235/75-15 C load range or a Goodyear Wrangler HT in a LT215/85-15 D load range both at around 1985-2085 lb capacity.

B. the 205/75 and the 225/75 both use a 6" wide wheel........the 225/75 is 1" larger diameter.
Changing tire size/diameter means checking out clearance issue's for your particular trailer.

They'll fit on the same rim,. They're both 15s. The 225s will be slightly larger so your main concern is if there's enough room between the two tires on each side. You don't want them rubbing each other.

How much room is there between the tires you have right now?
