installing rv shocks

I am planning to install some shocks on my rv this winter, hoping they help smooth out the ride as we have noticed since upgrading to the sailun tires it rides a bit rougher.

So my question is those who have done this, did it help? did you buy a kit? I see lippert has a kit which is about $125 per axle with shocks, has anybody used this one?

lee...glad yours rides smoother after, what pressure are you running? mine are at 110psi. even my wife has noticed the trailer rides rougher now, doors are found open...this never occurred with the cheap soft factory tires.

Looks like the Monroe kit has been discontinued. only choice I see is joyrider, LPI or make my own which could possibly cost more then the LPI when im finished.

Why don't you drop air pressure down to 100psi or lower??

They say you don't have to rum 110.

I put Joy ride on mine. I liked the angles designed into the brackets. I welded the frame brackets not bolted like they show

were not noticing much difference in the cab of the truck , but now finding stuff in the trailer moved around.

Im not certain air bags on my truck would help, trailer doesn't weigh enough to make my truck squat more than a inch.

I noticed when I don't pump up my air bags it really make a difference on the ride.

If I only use the torklift load stops it's pretty bumpy but when I charge the air bags it's like night and day.

I am not able to the Monroe kit, I have seen the joy rider and understand their point about he angle which is why I am almost considering fabbing my own brackets.

That's exactly what I did on our last TT. Made an amazing difference to feeling road irregularities like expansion joints.

Don't know anything about the LCI kit, but the cream of the crop, and what I'll choose when the time comes, is a Joy Rider shock kit. http://www.rvimprovementsystems.com/joy_rider.html
