Kingpin Tripod Stabilizer

Piddlers

As stated in another thread we are making the switch from travel trailer to fifthwheel and I'm sure we will have more questions to come.

Would be interested to hear from everyone regarding kingpin tripod stabilizers. Pros and cons please.

Thanks in advance for your input.

TRUE!

These are even worse. Up and down plus front to back movement!

Iโ€™ve used one for years. My Cameo has Big Foot hyd stabilizers. Very steady but with tripod no movement. Another reason I use it it keeps me from banging head on king pin. Iโ€™m on blood thinners and have been to drs more then once.

Don't waste your money I have 2 of them and the only thing they are good for is catching your foot on when you go around the front of the trailer or when you are getting into to the front compartment

We have JT Strong arms, X Chalks, and air ride king pin. Suffice to say my DW thinks the tri pod makes a difference therefore I set it up when we are staying for more than a week. Happy wife, happy life.

I have a king pin tripod but haven't used it since I installed JT Strongarms. Best modification I've ever done.

We use one every time we go out.
Our trailer is 42โ€™ and itโ€™s a front living room so lots of movement over the kingpin.
Then add in our two kids and 2 65lb dogs and well we are moving and bouncing.
We tried to do it without that but kid moves upfront you feel it in the back.
So we put the stand out and wow it made a world of difference.
We have the 6 point hydraulic leveling system with X chocks in the wheels but movement was there.
We also when stopped for a while will put two jack stands under the rear frame and it helps even more.
So for us it is a great addition and well worth the money and space it takes up.

Other than tossing in the trash how did you get rid of it??
Since I now have JT Strongarms have no need for it.

If you have a tripod with tubular legs, you could have made your own stabilizers out of it. :B

One came with our 02 Avion Platinum. Tried it, gave it away.

I get a kick out of the people that have one under an air bag kingpin.

JT Strongarms and forget it! Had a Tri-pod, was okay, but then got the JT's and WHAT a difference. Sold the Tri-pod, then the trailer later. Now have the 6 point, some wiggle but okay in my book!
