Load Range "G" Tire List?

There's been a lot of tire talk on here lately, and I wanted to get my question in before everyone moved on. We just purchased our 2012 Montana 3750FL. I looked before we signed and it has E rated Marathon's, which based on the trailer's dry weight, won't last very long. I'd love to put GY G614's on it, but can't afford $300 per. Every time I ask SGM Google, he can't seem to find any other G rated tires. Can anyone give me a list of G rated tires that I can price and compare for possible future purchase? Thanks in advance.

Sailun S637. Can't beat them for performance and especially price. The Goodyear tires price in a warranty for when they blow.

Thanks for all the good info. By the looks of it, I'm going to go with the Sailun S637. I know they're Chinese made, but I've read more good reviews than bad. I'll look around and see if I can find them around here. With the season almost over, we may camp close to home and buy them over the winter. Only thing that worries me is we're planning a trip to SD to get our mailbox and license/registration. 700 mi round trip with my fingers crossed the whole way.

By the way, how do you like the 3750FL? We had a 2010 and now a 2013. We love the floor plan.

We don't know yet. This is our first ever RV and we haven't picked it up yet. The DW fell in love with the floor plan a couple years ago, and she won't look at anything else that's not Front Living with a bathroom the full width of the trailer. I tried to convince her to go with a 375FLF, but she just had to have that second door. If the wife ain't happy, nobody's happy I guess. Two more years until DS is out of the house and Uncle Sam makes me go. Trying to sell the sticks and bricks now so all we have to do is climb in and disappear.

The GY's are pricey, but it's nice to not be looking in your mirrors all day. I'm confident the Sailun's and GeoStars will be a good tire also. They need some time in the field to prove themselves. So far, so good. I'd love to have a good alternative to the G614. For me, after my experience with the Marathons, I wanted to go with a proven tire and remove the drama.

X2 and how well they handle warranty claims.

Cummins12v98, the Montana HIGH country is our "little Brother" they weigh between 9.5-10k and is a much lighter rig than the Big Montana 3750 FL they would have been good to go with ST E rated tires it is just the Big Montana's(or ANY 12K+ lb rig) that ST E rated tires are not the right tool for the job(but what the heck nothing wrong with a little overkill)

If that $1500 is for 4 tires, then that is one of the reasons the Sailun is making inroads in Goodyear's business. I paid $1300 for 6 Sailun tires mounted and balanced. But not new stems, the old steel ones were still good.

Last fall before we decided to up grade to our Suites I had called a local tire dealer for prices on Goodyear G's. I was quoted $1500, new stems, mounting and balancing. We had two E rated Marathons go bad on us on our west coast trip last fall. They didn't blow but ended up with ply separations.

MAKE SURE THAT YOUR WHEELS ARE RATED FOR 110PSI!!!!!! Many RV wheels are only rated to 80psi so putting a 110psi G rated tire on that wheel is pointless. Crawl under your trailer and look at the backside of your wheel and see if you can't find a stamping that states the wheels rating. Mind had 110psi stamped right on the backside of a spoke.

I believe some of time around 2011 Montana started using wheel rated to 3750 pounds to match LRG tires. Chris

My parents friends bought a Montana Something Country??? I told them to demand the GY G's before they signed. They got their wish!

Don't walk to the tire store, run to it. We have a 3750FL and had the china bomb Marathon E and one blew, and it made a mess of the camper. I always ran proper pressure, checked tires regularly, and figure it would never happen to me. BAM at 65 MPH in VT. Replaced with G614, all five, and no problems. The G614s are expensive but this is one of those times where you can't afford to not spend the money. The damage to the camper could be expensive and certainly not convenient. I was planning on upgrading and one tire blew before I did. By the way, how do you like the 3750FL? We had a 2010 and now a 2013. We love the floor plan.

$300 for 16" G/Y 614's? I've been seeing them more like $400.

Let me know where I can get'em for $300 and I'll be ordering them.

I'm going for R250 Bridgestones for $195 @ Costco--after $70 rebate.

GY has 3 price tiers tell your dealer you want the middle one if they want your business.

trailertiresandwheels.com check them for GY they keep fresh tires in stock.

New buyers pay attention to what this person has noticed.

Most all RV's of this size have E Chicom tires and they will not last. Make your best deal on the RV then tell them you will sign if they put GY G tires on the RV. I have suggested this to several people when shopping and they did get what they wanted.

OP I would stick with the GY G tires. They have been a great tire since mid 07 and they WILL pay for damages unlike another tire maker!

Don't forget you can sell your tires on CL easily for 3-$400. That makes the cost of the GY's more bare able.
