New ST Goodyear tires

We had a blow out on the original tires with our Forest River 26 ft 5er. The tire could not be repaired. We bought 1 Goodyear ST tire on the road. They told us to run 50-55 lbs of air. We got home and decided to replace them all with the ST tires. The store we went to told us to run 70-75 lbs of air. I followed my husband home. The back of our rig looked like it was "twerking' all the way home. Stuff had fell that never fell before. I call Forest River, the person there said 50-55. I explained what the store said. He said well do like what the say. End of story. I did not feel good about that with all the twerking.I called Goodyear, the person did not have a clue what an RV was. She started rattling off a formula, and treated me a nit-wit because I didn't know what she was calculating. The then she said to run 30 lbs. I asked to speak to her supervisor. She started on her calculations. She did list what she was counting. She came up with 35. Our lawnmower runs that! That was the answer end of the story. Since these are the new ST tires and we have always ran 50-55 lbs per tire. We don't know what to do? Any suggestions?

Are the new tires a heavier tire than original? If so, you may want to run slightly softer to allow for the sidewall difference.
Also for the "twerking" is it possible that the alignment of the axles was changed by the blowout?

Unless you have an “E” rated or above tire, the speed limite is not that posted on the highway, but that on the tire’s specs, usually 65 mph.

Just guessing here for lack of information.....Sounds like the owner/tire dealer over tired the trailer and now can't use recommended tire pressures (max sidewall).

This website need a good form or a sticky for newbies to fill out when requesting tire information. That way proper verbiage can be used so we will know all the aspects and tech information required to give a opinion.

Is there a chance that the 5er is mislabeled? I know for a fact that Forest Rive has had many recalls for wrongly labeled tire load information stickers.
There should be a sticker on the front street side that shows what tires are supposed to be on the 5er. 50 lbs for psi is too low if you have a Flagstaff 5th wheel.
Dbl check the tire and the sticker to make sure they match. OEM tires should be inflated to the max on the sidewall.

Were the tires balanced? If not they should be and you should run the max air pressure on the sidewall unless you know the weight of each wheel or unless the load range of the new tires are higher than the old ones, then you can use the chart noted above.

No clue what "twerking" means. Please explain.

Not unless you upgrade from a C rated to a D rated or E rated etc.

Twerking is something a camper or a 63 yr old should not try. It is not good for either one.

you will not get the proper info with out telling us the tire size...but if the label on trailer says 50 psi and they replaced with the same size tire on the label ...more than likely you should run 50 psi...need tire info.

I don't think she was using a formula, because the load formula is very complex (It is beyond high school level mathematicians.) That's why they publish tables.

LOL, Twerking is bending over and shaking your rear. Was it bouncing up and down or swaying side to side?

I replaced my tires rated for 65lb max air pressure with GY Endurance rated at 80lb max. At 80lbs my rear would be bouncing up and down. I lowered them to 65lbs and now back to normal. So far I love these tires.

I believe she was working off of a load/pressure formula to calculate your proper pressure. Can you share the formula with us? There is a table to acquire this information but the formula would be good to have.

I suggest you tell us the tire size, trailer weight, the load range of the tires, the maximum pressure printed on the sidewall and exactly what twerking is.
