New to Us Surveyor SVF260BH - Question

We bought a used 2008 Surveyor fifth wheel. Just off to the bottom left side of the main entry door is a hole for a crank handle. Whatever is on the other side of the frame where the handle fits into some kind of mechanism is hidden. We thought perhaps it was to manually retract the slide in case something broke. We tried cranking and didn't see anything moving. Of course, there is no manual. Any idea on what this is for?

I've got one practically in the same location for a slide directly across from the door...Just make sure you crank it in the correct direction to open or close....Odds are very good, if you have a slide directly across from the door, that hole is to be used to extend or retract your slide if having an issue doing so electrically or hydraulically, depending on which system you have. It's also recommend to by pass battery if manually retracting or extending the slides, (if electric).

you should be able to contact Forest River company and have them send you the manual on that particular model. You may also ask to speak with Tech support for that model and year and they should be able to walk you through the steps. Your local dealer may know also. Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !

Should be for the slide. There should be another in the propane tank storage for the landing gears.

It would seem to be for a slide on the other side. Or your landing gear, but from the picture, it doesn't look close to your landing gear.
