Pantry Door / Drawers

We just purchased a used Crossroads Paradise Pointe. It has a pantry door with the slide out drawers inside the pantry. We are having a problem with the 3 drawers pushing the pantry door open and sliding back and forth as we travel. There doesn't appear to be any sort of locks for the drawer slides and the roller latches on the door aren't enough to keep it closed with the drawers pushing on it. Any ideas on how to keep the drawers stationary?

I bought the child proof locks that slip thru the door handles. Solved our problems of doors opening.

You can get them to match your other hardware - surface bolt Stanley. Just make sure the throw is long enough, as there are several different brands and type.

This is also exactly the solution I used on our new unit as well. Drawers would slide open with any weight in them pushing the outer door open all the time hitting the woodwork.
Thank MileHigh for saving me the work to post the pic.;)

Thanks!

It was kind of a necessity on these big 8 drawer pantries. Folks were having problems with them hitting the pantry door hard enough in travel that it would actually break the door at the hinges, especially the drawers loaded with canned goods and pots and pans. One of the other owners on our owner forum gave us the idea.

That's a great idea Mile High.

If I had (or in the future) drawers within the cabinets, I will use this.

I was only trying to solve the problem of doors popping open and throwing our dishes around.

All the drawers in my unit have clasps like this on the bottom to hold them closed.

Try carefully looking the structure over --- there should be some kind of locking device usually about 1/3 the way up.

Personally, I would put some padding on the inside of the pantry door, to cushion the drawers, then put a latch on the outside of the door to keep it closed.
