Need help from those experienced here!

We are searching for our fifth wheel in the 26 to 29 ft range. We cannot find a fifth wheel that has no steps between the bathroom and the bed, basically, around the bed - no nighttime trip hazards!

We have searched for this size fiver with a bedroom slide for months with very little success. We have found these: Sundance XLT, Sabre F281RLDS, Crossroads Sunset, Flagstaff 8524, Wilcat 272RLX.

Thank you for your advice and suggestions!

May I be so bold as to ask what you are going to be towing the 5er with? That may or may not make some difference in your decision making...Do yourself a favor and when you look at the 5er's that you're interested in, use it's GVW weight when doing the math....the "empty" or "dry" weight number isn''t all that helpful. No one tows an "empty" or "dry" rv when going camping. To figure pin weight, take 20% of the 5er's GVW and that'll give you a "ballpark" of how much weight you'll be putting in the bed of your truck when you hitch up to the 5er...Also add another 200# or so for the addition of a 5th wheel hitch.

I apologize if this has been discussed somewhere else, but again, I didn't see what truck you will use to tow the 5er....just some "food for thought" while thinking about what you're going to purchase..:)

sorry - forgot to answer this!

We do not yet have a truck - but are looking to tow about 12-13K. So I guess it is open ended just now!

Thanks

Dandy Dan -

This is our first ever purchase of any type of recreational vehicle and I must say that we are in heaven! We love all the features our 5th wheel has and the company was great to work with! The floor plans are great with lots of storage! 🙂 We are actually out for the first time camping with full hook ups, we usually dry camp and its quite a luxury 🙂

We just bought an Open Range Roamer 316RLS and absolutely love it! It's got triple slides so has bedroom slide- no steps from bedroom to bathroom and shower and toilet are separate - it's a bit bigger than 29' - but they have others that might fit your needs. We looked for 4-5 years before we decided on this one because we each had certain things we knew we couldn't live without! Good luck in your search

Basically you must be looking for a North/South bed arrangement correct?
Check out the Fox Mountain 235 RLS at 27"10". Part of Northwood Mfg. and the Arctic Fox. Hope this helps. Best of luck on your search.
