RV furniture

The recliners that came with our Life Style 5th wheel has this fake leather look. The material is pealing off and they look terrible. We need to replace them. Camping World doesn’t have much of a selection. Need suggestions on where to find replacement recliners and couch. We have checked the internet but my wife would like to sit on the furniture before buying. Has anyone made a trip to Elkhart to look for furniture?

We took careful measurements for some replacement furniture (wanted to eliminate a hide a bed) and bought some Ashly furniture. I’m certain that there are some upper end recliners or love seats that will also fit! You just have to be certain that they easily dissemble to fit them through the doorway!

Sadly FlexSteel no longer makes RV furniture......it was top of the line ! Our first two Tetons came with FlexSteel! memtb

*If* you want "high dollar" recliners there are stores specializing in
those. "Pricey" is correct.

Recliners normally are in two pieces - the back and the bottom (where you sit).

Couches & hide-a-beds - sometimes difficult to get the back to come off the bottom - usually just a tight fit to separate the two.
Hide-A-Bed - remove the bed part first. Base is way lighter!

NEVER had a problem getting any of the above thru the door! Couch was a tight fit - a "helper" is nice.

(IMO) I would buy at a Goodwill Store before Camping World...:R

I recommend RecPro charles collection double, I bought it on amazon and am very satisfied with this recliner. Very easy to install and matches our RV furniture. It is very comfortable for two and almost reclines to a flat position when snug against the wall.

We have Ekornes Stressless™ recliners in the house. For longer trips, we move them into the TT. They're quite light and easily fit through the door without disassembly. Not cheap but very high quality. Comfortable furniture is subjective but if these look like they might be your thing, check them out at Scandinavian Designs.

We also have a Lifestyle Luxury RV , however the sofa in ours looks like new yet so can't justify replacing it. However it does appear that lambright has sofas that will fit in the narrow depth spot. We did buy recliners for our rig at United RV in FTW as they had them in stock to 'test sit'. However they are Thomas Payne and I'm guessing they won't hold up well....

We replaced our two recliners with two that we purchased at Costco. They came in a box with the backs already off, so getting them through the door was no big deal. They are fabric, but the wood goes well with the rest of the wood in the RV. To keep them from bouncing around, we turn them so that the backs are facing each other and bungee cord them together. They might move an inch or so, but never off of the slide.

Do you have to fasten down the new furniture? It appears the junk in our Montana is bolted to the floor on a steel frame under the furniture??? Don't want the furniture to be rearranged riding on our fine infrastructure.

We've gotten really nice things at American Furniture that were made to come apart and go into RVs. Craig

My recliner from Williamsburg Furniture looks like it had a very bad sun burn, the spray on bonded leather is peeling off, while the wifes chair is still good, go figure

Go to LazyBoy or other furniture store advertising recliners. Try before you buy.

As others have stated - make sure the backs are removable (it's pretty much "standard" - and easy to do).

BTW - thought the factory sofa would be a PITA to remove.....until I realized with a bit of "persuasion" the back came off also. Remove the fold-out bed assembly - and it's easy to do, preferably with a helper.

Factory recliners = gone!
Factory table & 4 chairs = gone!
Factory sofa = gone!

Didn't replace the sofa, but other replacements a *great* improvement over the factory stuff!!

The backs are removable on the La-Z-Boy recliners. The Collage series is below the Pinnacle and are pure JUNK. The Collage chairs are slightly smaller than the Pinnacle and are just plain cheap. They will start to fall apart in a few months.

We originally bought Collage and after fighting with La-Z-Boy for a year and one repair due to collapsing foam, they refunded out cost against the more expensive Pinnacle series. We have had the Pinnacle recliners for about 2 years and they are doing great.

La-Z-Boy is sold through distributors. Find our who is the distributor in your area and check their BBB and reviews. For the SE Texas it is LEBCO and they are horrible. To get satisfaction, I had to go back to the manufacturers main office.

How do you discern which ones are below the Pinnacle Series? Is it the price point below $759?

Also are the backs removable on all these to fit thru a narrow 5'er door? Unfortunately La-Z -Boy does not have a specific RV line and you can't rely on what a salesman may tell you to make a sale.
