Sailun Tire update

Getting ready to start to begin to commence to think about my next set of tires for the TH 5er.

Have been looking at the Sailun S637. They fit the bill for size & weight needs and have good reviews so far.

So my very specific question is: Have any of you Sailun tire OWNERS had ANY regrets?

(lets try not to start a tire argument cuz they always go bad, and yes, I have read plenty about other tires just want to know about these at this time)

Thanks!

I think all of the 16" Sailuns have the ST designation now; mine from last year do. If memory serves me correct it had something to do with avoiding additional import costs that LT tires are subjected to or something like that. I don't believe the tire changed, just the labeling.

I also believe mine are rated for 4,180 lbs each. I do not believe that they have the 65 mph speed limit.

The ones listed in the link provided are actually ST tires, whereas the ones I ordered a couple years back were LT tires, but marked "For Trailer Service Only". And mine were rated at 3750 lbs. So those look like good tires, and their height is an inch or so shorter overall than mine. But a little more expensive. Give with one hand and take away with the other. 🙂

I imagine they don't have the normal 65 mph ST speed rating, but it didn't list it. Seems very unlikely though.

The 235/80-16 exists but I haven't been able to find them in the US only Canada. Maybe soon they will show up. I will probably just go with the 85s.

I have been told that these guys have the 80's series Sailun's

I am considering the Sailuns in the new size 235 80 16. My 5th has E tires currently and no clearance for LT(or st) 85s. Weight is ~10,500 with 11,500 gvwr. Wheels have 110psi rating. I am also considering the maaxis E. Reliabilty and longevity is the goal. Wondering how folks here would go. Sailuns and Maaxis are hard to get here but we mostly travel in the US.

Thanks All
Paul

Have you considered going to 215/85r16 LT,s instead? I don't think you rig is heavy enough to warrant a G rated tire. That size is the same height as the 235/80r16 you currently have.

Have you seen the Sailun tire in a 235/80-16? I couldn't find a listing for that size with the Sailun. And just because it is the same spec as what you currently have doesn't mean it would be the same size. There are size differences between 235/85-16 tires as well.
