Actually should have vastly more pulling power than a 3500, a Japanese Truck would replace a Dually in Australia.. Ride would depend on Airbag suspension.

I always see the weird ones while I'm either driving or don't have a camera.

Just yesterday I saw what looked to be a pop-up 5th wheel being towed by a little truck. the camper had the section that extended over the bed of the truck like a 5r, but the profile of the camper was lower than that of the truck. I can't seem to find one on Google - what would it even been called?

Lance used to make a small fifth wheel for towing behind lightweight 1/2 ton trucks. I think it was in the 3,500 pound GVWR range.
