Splendide 2100XC washer combo

My wife and I recently purchased a Heartland Bighorn 3735 EL. We would like to put a washer and dryer in our rig. The dealer recommends the Splendide 2100XC.

I did a search on washers and dryers and found conflicting data and old post.

I guess what I want to know is; are the Splendides quality machines and worth the purchase price?

I have not Googled the wash and dry times yet, but I was told that I need a combo as the stackables will not fit.

Any opinions?

Thanks,
John

Are they quality? You bet they are. So far in 10 years I have had to replade one door handle. Thats it! Yes, they do take time. Expect 3 hours wash and dry. But so what? We start a load in the morning, go about our business and take dry clothes out when we get back. The key is small loads.

X2, the door handle gave me some issues but I got it done. Broke after 12 years. I love to have it on board, I use it every day unless dry camping.

We have the separate Splendide pair and they work very well. The DW likes being able to dry a load while another is washing. Yes it takes up space but that has not been an issue. They were dealer installed when we took delivery of the camper and while pricey that's what she wanted so you know happy wife happy life.

"Yes it is slow, but no big deal for us. I can wash clothes anytime I want and as much as I want."

Exactly ! I am doing laundry right now, while catching up on mail, etc.

Who says men can't multi-task ????

I did purchase the Splendide and installed it myself. I love it. Yes it is slow, but no big deal for us. I can wash clothes anytime I want and as much as I want.

We are currently full timing. We have been for 14 months.
Our splendide 2100xc runs about a load of laundry per day. Small loads are the key. After work we do a load each night. It finishes up before we go to bed.
DW and I have a 2 and 4 year old. Our machine gets used hard.

The dryer gave us a problem, but it was just dirty with lint.
I now run the cleansing cycle about twice a month. Usually at night as the wash hardly moves at all without clothes in it.

We do take blankets to the laundry mat.

If you have wrinkle problems get the dryer balls from Target, I think. About tennis ball size with little knobs all over them. Keeps the clothes separated and moving around I guess.

We have the vented model. Set it on "low spin". It shakes less and there are fewer wrinkles when done.

I did just have to replace the brushes in the motor in ours. It's about 8 years old; and, we are fulltimers. So, it's been worked hard...

From what I've read, the newer models have "brushless A/C motors."
RVing since 1992. Full timer since 2005. Still going strong and loving it!

Spledidde, but it is slow, and will shake your FW a little in some cycles.

Our Splendide vented is 10 years old and never a problem. Yes, they do small loads. And Yes, they can take a while. But the DW just puts in a load of clothes, sets it to wash AND dry, and we go about doing whatever we want to do. And come back later to a clean, dry load of laundry. And repeat the process if needed. No need to wait around for it to finish the cycle, or to transfer clothes from the washer to the dryer.

But do go for the vented model.

X2 on this. Does not matter that they do smaller loads. It's a non-issue.

Thanks for all the replies. I am planning to use the dealer to have it installed and buy brand new. I seem to have a issue with used anything.

Also, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed so I am better off paying the dealer to install it, just in case. I am planning to have the vented one put in. In fact, the vented one is even cheaper than the non vented.

I think they only carry Splendide and that is why they offered that brand.

I will spend some time on the Splendide site and see if I can get a bigger one. Although I don't think the dry times will bet that big of a deal, but it would be convenient to do a larger load. I can picture my wife hanging close up to the dry. We are in Colorado and seem to like the southwest. Stuff dries fast.

I found mine on Craig's list for $450 slightly used. Here are some I found in your area and the XC2100 vented is a good machine.
