So just got my tag renewed for my 15 durango. I've had it 6 months now but the tag cost $320. Does this sound on par with everyone else? I may be way out of line but assumed being a rec vehicle that doesn't see much action wouldn't cost more than my 15 silverado 2500hd tag.

Back in Wisconsin everything is around a 100 bucks.

Just got the news that registering my vehicles in Florida will cost me a one time impact fee of $400 bucks for each one of them. :R

It's all relevant. If the state has no taxes or low taxes they have to get their money somewhere so up goes the vehicle registration fees.

Don't register in Arizona, Just re-registered my 2007 Open Road $201, and my 2008 F-250 diesel 4X4 $208. My registration was way higher than yours in Alabama when they were newer.

yep Alabama has ad valorem tax. That's why we haven't moved to Alabama. Our tags are much cheaper in Florida!

Just my truck and 5th wheel together were $651 this year. That doesn't include my wife's car.

Wow! Guess we'll stay in Missouri for sure! We registered and tagged (license plate) our fifth wheel for $50. which is good for the entire time we own the trailer - no expiration date! They only offer this excellent deal on fifth wheels.

Auto tags in MO are very reasonable too -- $70. for two years.

Just for example, and I'm sure other folks cost are higher, my truck, and FW tags, are $150 each per year, even though both see limited road time. My enclosed snowmobile trailer is around $140 per year, and used for about 1K miles per year.

Many states, including mine, raised the tag cost again, to pay for road repairs. It includes trailers, motorcycles, anything with a tag. They also raised vehicle sales tax 1%, and gas tax .06 per gal.

Some nearby states raised the gas tax .15-.20 per gal, but did not raise tag cost. To me this makes more sense for road repair costs, due to the more you use the roads, the more tax you will pay. When I drive in other states, I will help pay for their road repair, when I buy gas, only fair IMO.

I have three trailers, and a number of motorized vehicles, that do not see much time on the road. My 13 truck, only has 6,000 miles on it, as it is not a daily driver. My total tags keep going up, but my road use keeps going down. I wish they would raise the gas tax here, and leave the tags alone. Tags are plenty high as it is.

I agree I would much rather that system because I drive very little. I dont mind paying a road tax for what I use but dont punish me for having nice things.

They said off value. My tag receipt they sent didn't have a value so they looked up a value. If this is normal I sure hope it depreciates this next year lol.

Were it me, I'd consider contesting the value. Take a look around and see what used units like yours are selling for and compare it to what they valued it at. Check NADA, too.
