Great links.
Do you know how big the spaces are? How long of a rig can you fit in the space?

Stayed there YEARS ago but drive by often. My son and family live in Camarillo, may have to shoot for a weekend there so they can join us. Good to know its easier to get in than some. I've all but given up on state beach camping due to availability.
I'll check out the reserve america alert system, might work well.
Do you ever stay at Hobson or Faria? How hard are they to get into?

Love Thornhill,we get there several times a year.It is too bad that the north camping spots are gone from the storms. When they had the fire we were heading that way but were stopped,we went on to Oregon and on the way back we were there the first day that they opened,we were pretty much alone.
We always say never a dull moment there,we have seen 2 helicopter rescues on the hill across from our campsite, even landed on the HWY.
The last trip in January we got to see them filming a car commercial, they made 3 passes with a CHP escort following, the chopper that was filming was went right over us.
Three weeks heading to Refugio, hope this is better than last time,we left the morning of the oil spill.

Nunyadamn wrote:Thornhill broome is a lil easier to book compared to Refugio. You can find a spot at THB if you book a couple of weeks out. This trip we just showed up since it was weekday and paid day to day through self serve. Refugio is another story it's almost always booked solid 6 months in advanced. I recommend you setup on reserve America to alert you of any availability. The noise level from pch at THB isn't too bad at all during the day. Early morning when your sleeping is when you can hear the cars on pch.
We have thought a few times about staying at Thornhill. How is the noise from PCH? How far out do you usually have to book in advance?
Same question for Refugio.
We like to stay north as we are coming from AZ. Jalama is by far our favorite. We have stayed a few times at Emma Wood (as well as many others). Great pictures.
