I have a 2010 Montana 3455SA, bought used, last summer. It has a dry weight of approximately 12010lbs, GVWR of 15560lbs. GAWR of 6750lbs. IT has a mishmash of about 3 different brands of ST 80psi tires on it, all of which look to be in pretty good shape. My question is... I found some Goodyear G614's locally for $300 apiece. They are 235 85R 16. The current tires on the camper are 235 80R 16. Will the "85R" tires fit on my rims? Also, My rims are stamped "Max Load 3750lbs 110 PSI". We are pulling it to the Myrtle Beach in May and I am putting new tires of some kind on it. Are the Goodyear's a good choice? Any other tires you would recommend? Thanks in advance!

The diameter of the ST235/80R16E Marathon and the G614 are the same at 30.7 inches. Chris

The other major upside to the GY tires is that, if there is a failure, they'll fix any damage. Sailun will not, but they are considerably cheaper.

The G614s seem to be the replacement tires of choice by many owners of the heavier Montanas on the Montana Owners Club forum. And apparently size is not a problem. You can go there and ask your question.

I'd recommend the Sailun tire also. A good alternative to the good year at half the price.

If you can live with the slight diametrical increase, the LT235/85R-16G Goodyear G614 RSTs will be fine. As far as the suggestion to use an LT tire (see the size designation for the G614s - an LT tire for trailer only service) I'm not sure you can find a general purpose LT235 or 245/75, 80 or 85 series 16" tire with the required minimum 3375 lb (6750 lbs GAWR divided by 2) rating.

I would suggest the new Sailun LT235/80R16, same height as what you have and rated for 4080 lbs @ 110PSI. Just over half the cost of Goodyears. I have the 85 series and would have bought the 80 series but it wasn't out when I bought.

Your tires are 5-6 years old and I would definitely replace them, your choice as to how much you spend.

After experiencing my LAST freaking Chinese tire failure three weeks ago, I've decided to go with the exact same tire. Your rims will work perfectly. Understand that the G614s are approximately 1" taller overall. So you'll grow about 1/2" between the axle and the top of the tire. Make sure you have enough room between the tires and between the tire and the top of the fender so you don't rub.

When running a 110psi tire, it's very important that you switch over to metal valve stems that can handle that kind of pressure.

Ideally, you'll know the exact weight on each tire and adjust the tire pressure accordingly. Otherwise, you might get a little extra bounce and some excessive tread wear if you run them at max pressure.
