Getting ready for replacement tires for the fiver. Michelin
tires sidewalls prematurely failed according to Americas tires. Due
to health issues could not get 3 back to them for replacements. They
replaced one under their warranty. Now looking for new ones. I
have been looking at GY Endurance but also see Americas tires
Hartland. They are steel interior and read the are made to their
standards even though they are China tires which I do not
care for. I was wondering if anyone has tried their Hartland tire
and if so what success you have had. Working on a budget and 400.00
less then GY Endurance but still don't want to get stuck with junk
if I don't have too.

Having to dig REAL DEEP!!!!!

I am NOT a GY "Fan Boy" I tell it like it is. I had great success with the GY "G" tires for years. With my current DRV and GY "H" tires I had many tread separations and one that lead to a blow out and damage. GY was great about replacing and paying foe damages but I had enough! I just don't think the "H" tire is designed to run near capacity as I was.

So I changed to my only other real option the 235 Continentals in "J" at a tad over 6k capacity per tire. One year and they are wearing well and running cool. The Heavy DRV 5ers are all going to this tire. They look like street slicks and they are HEAVY.

sounds like you work for goodyear haha. seriously though unless some one finds a issue with a tire in the spring they will never know if it is a road hazard unless there is a nail in a chunk of it they find. I was running 10 year old china bombs on my trailer and after 10 years one finally went... It was a road hazard and the only reason I know that is it was a set of train tracks with a big pothole and I was surprised I didn't lose a tire on the truck and only one on that side of the rv.

I had one tire fail on my 5th wheel (China bombs 6 years old) as I went through a construction site. assumed road hazard as there was no explanation otherwise. I also replaced one before the season as it had some weird wear and looked like a broken belt. could be road hazard who knows.. the problem with tires is you can hit a good bump, and nothing happens at that time but 2 months to a year down the road it could blow or something you didn't think it would cuz there is a weak spot in that tire already.

I think for myself I have decided on Sailun as you are getting a steel belted ST tire that is commercial rated.

But they are dependable.
I got the current set a year ago and will need new ones next spring.

Biggest question did you have any failures?

I have well over 25k on my ENDURANCE tires on my boat trailer that I run 70mph a lot and in and out of salt water near daily. Dated 2017 with no issues. End of Summer they will have over 30k and the next Spring they will be replaced with the same.

FWIW, there are several owners on one of the forums I frequent that have complained about Endurance failures, tread separation, and other issues unrelated to road hazard.

Personally, I have Endurance on my KZ FW. I =wanted= the Carlisle HDs as I've had good luck with them in the past, but Discount couldn't get them in time for a trip. An OEM tire gave out on the way from my storage to my house (about 11 miles) with a tread separation. I had 2 days to get tires and the GY were what they had in stock.

Our 30' GN flatbed came with G-rated Providers and the 6 of them give us well over our rated 21k GVW rating. So far, they still look good after 4 years. I'd buy 'em again.

Bubbles in one tires sidewalls and another tire wearing out of round is a tire issue not a road hazard.
You asked for one so you got just one.
I've found other Endurance complaints in a quick 2 min google, However google any tire and we can find non road hazard type complaints.

There is no perfect tire. Just some have a better/longer work history than others.

I was a little underwhelmed by Endurance tires (new 2019) on our 13,500 fifth wheel. Had one tire on a rear axle with a tread separation just as wear was almost down to wear bars. Now trying Hankooks: 235/85-16 gives a few extra lbs capacity over typical 230/80-16; they are made in China, yet they are proably the most expensive. Good so far. They are rated for something North of 80 mph which is a minimum for me.

If don't like tire issues get the ENDURANCE. Simply do an ENDURANCE tire failure search. I challenge you too find one that is not a road hazard failure.

One individual in this post used to say they were not on the market long enough. Well they have been out since early 2017. Now he won't mention them.

Let's look at reality. Your 14k GVWR 5er should have a MINIMUM of 15% pin. That leaves 11,900# on the four tires now split that by 4 that is 3,000#. The ENDURANCE 235/85 16 at 80psi is rated for 3,640#. The next size 255/85 16 is rated for 4,080. Both tires ratings are at 80psi. Another bonus is they are rated at 87mph.

So a little truth in lending with facts goes a long ways.

Here is some facts just for you.

Your brag about no issues with Endurance started when they came out in 2017 and as with any new tire it takes a few years to get a accurate idea how there going to work long term.
And like any new tire they've had a few issues showing up on NHTSA complaints website.

Here is one Endurance tire issue for your reading pleasure:

#1... IRV2
***You can think about getting Goodyear Endurance, but you won't be able to get them!
We have them on our fifth wheel, after 3 years we just put on our 2nd set. One brand new tire has a matching inside and outside bubble on sidewall. Sure they'll warranty it, they just can't get another tire, anywhere!!
Not the first time we've had tire problems, another one was replaced because it was wearing oval, out of round!!
Will be going in another direction when these wear out...

Sent from my moto e (XT2052DL) using iRV2 - RV Forum mobile app***

I've got more Endurance complaints from a couple of rv websites however its a moot point as any new tire it takes a few years for them to come out.
I would say and have said... no more complaints than is on the net the Endurance makes a good tire for most rv trailer owners.

The Endurance ST255/85-16 has a wide tread width and requires a 7" min wide wheel for best long term reliability. Not the best idea for 6"-6.5" wide wheels for a tire/wheel load carrying duties.

$223 each at a Discount Tire here locally. By the time you add labor, insurance, valve stems, etc that $1200 isn't out of line. It is Cali after all.
