Toy Hauler? For extra room, but no toys to haul?

Well I'm a newbie with the itch to upgrade from my 24' HTT (need more space, different beds, kids friends etc). Thought maybe a TT or FW with bunkhouse would be nice. But was out looking today and the sales guy say "what about a toy hauler". Would I be crazy to get a toy hauler wo toys? Any good recommendations for this? Like the extra beds and room for kids/dog. Would like to keep it around 10k lbs and under 35'. If I do upgrade will need new TV, so that's not an issue (probable 350,3500).

We agree a toy hauler does a lot more than haul toys! We've got 6 years of time in our TH and love the versatility. I build/fly large scale RC planes and my wife is a quilter, so we have an airplane shop and sewing area in our garage, which also doubles a bunkhouse for grand kids and a play area on rainy days. It also hauls toys (quads) on occasion, hauls our bicycles and whatever extra gear we need. Their versatility is only limited by your imagination, so GO FOR IT!!

My toyhauler's garage is a bedroom at night and a playroom by day. In a few years it may be used to move a kid to college.

Bought a 32' TH in June last year. Have 4 quads and have yet to take them anywhere in it. We have two small boys that play in the back. Two beds that roll up is great along with the couch which makes three queen beds in the back. We have a king in the frong which is always ready for us. I have a rental home 4 hours away and it was great to load up tools, table saw, and supplies to work on the house one weekend and have plenty of room for me and the boys. We have guests stay in it with no isses. Two TVs so we can all watch what we want. One camping trip I ended up with my buddies wifes sleeping in the back while me and the boys slept in the front due to the heat. I think it is like comparing a van to a full size truck.

We have a Livin Lite VRV Hybrid Toyhauler.
We don't have any motor toys, but haul 6 bikes and lots of other sports gear, etc. when camping.
We LOVE the versatility. I personally love the fold-down tent sections, as we were previous tent campers but we just needed more room & cargo space. This way I have best of both.
You're smart to go for what your wife will like so she'll want to get out and use it alot! (I say that as a wife myself, but I'm the one more into camping versus my husband) I'm not into the "home-like" look when camping, so I can't give you any suggestions for toyhaulers to look at. What we did is go to RV shows, that way she can get in several different ones at once.

Wife & I went with a TH as opposed to a TT. The TH is roomier plus I made a stand to attach to the back wall (easy to remove) for the big screen TV.

My neighbor has a TH and no toys. He converted the area into an amazing office space with a pullout sofa for guests and there is a restoom so the guests have their own. I thought it was a great idea.

You can use them like any other trailer, but the best part is you can haul something if you what to. Some haul small cars or boats, just about anything you can think of.

We use ours with and without toys, this pass New Years spent 4 days in it without toys.

The DW and I have had our TH Raptor for about 5 months...we love it! We currently have no toys and the garage makes a perfect "den" and a great storage area while traveling. When we retire in few short years, this will be our home on the road!:B

We have had our toyhauler since May & love it Sliding glass door to the 12' garage 5 queen size beds (one is the U shaped dinettte) Down side it is heavy (gross 14.5K empty, dry weight around 10K) Without toys probably about 12K. It is a fiver 35.5'. We put a small frig in the back for drinks. Dogs & grown kids can have their own room. Don't rule out Pumas two 35' garage fiver models & out the door for under 30K.

Another advantage if you dry camp is that toy haulers have larger tanks both fresh and holding tanks. These can be an advantage if you camp without hook ups. My brother bought a toy hauler just for the reason of the larger tanks, they couldn't live as a family of four with just 40 gallons of fresh water so he moved to toy hauler and now has 150 gallons of fresh.

I have one thing to add - - - get a toy hauler and you will soon be buying a toy!!! Ha Ha!!

I'll always have a hauler even if I have no toys. The extra room is very handy and the garages in these new RVs are as nice as the living quarters are.

BTW - wifey and I pulled ours to the desert yesterday and took no toys. We spent the day target shooting, napping and eating outside. The weather was very nice here so we had to get out. Kinda wish I had taken the quad though. I shot rifles a little and the walk out to the target and back was an effort.
