2020 Model. Pulling with 2021 Ram 2500 Diesel. Have 3000 miles plus with no issues.

Now at speeds as low as 30 mph can hit a bump and side to side rocking translates into trailer sway. Worse going uphill. Had a trip this weekend and put two new tires on the rear axle. My tire shop only had two.

Is this axles out of alignment?? Shocks on the truck? ( 30k miles on truck).

I pulled the tires off and bearings are good. Measured and axles are same distance between tires. Did not measure to the pin.

Tread is still good on front axle. And was good on the two that were replaced. Wear is even. Could not detect that they were out of round when jacked up and spun the wheels.

Any help is welcome. Have years experience of towing trailers. The sway is dangerous. Not a slight annoyance. Thanks.

Reality, probably the issue. Broken spring, coil. Put stronger ones on, problem is generally speaking solved!
A dealer will only replace stock for stock. An after market spring shop will replace 6500 lb springs for 8000 lb springs/coils, a safety net is now available on this part.

You simply are NOT listening to FACTS. Too much RV for any 250/2500 no matter how you slice it!

Culprit??? Not hardly as you are asking it to do something that it simply can't. Waste all the money they want but the truck is NOT the issue.

The truck may very well have damage that is causing the swaying….but even if the truck is repaired and brought up to spec, it is still not near enough truck for that trailer. Towing that trailer with that truck is an accident waiting to happen, and probably illegal.
OP: Please convince your brother to get a 350 dually or a smaller trailer.

Legal, is not the issue, he is legal in ALL 50 states of US, as long as he has enough paid for license registration! I've been pulled over in one of my rigs at 150% of its factory warranty weight rating, no overweight ticket, altho I did get a 10 day up my registration by 2000 lbs, as I was over my paid for amount.

It does sound like there is something wrong with the truck itself. Be it the tires on the truck have blown belts, too little psi, tread, too soft of sidewalls....broken coil spring, bracket that holds them in place, anti sway bar.....something mechanical is broke.

You have to remember that Ram in their great wisdom, went to coil springs on the back of the 2500 like they did on the 1500. So far, the coil springs do not handle weight as well as the leaf springs.

10 pounds of sand in a 5 pound bag by the looks of it.

Maybe see if a buddy with a 1 ton dually can pull it and if they have the same issue. I'm betting the issue disappears.

Thanks..I agree having someone watch in another vehicle is a great idea. I don't see any bolts missing or loose on the sway bar..on the truck.

Thanks for all the input.

I keep thinking you have something broken on the trailer not on the truck. Can you maybe have somebody drive near you around 30 mph and watch the wheels when you hit a bump. Maybe get a few friends to follow, one driving the follow car and one filming on their phone for review later.
