We have a 2006 TT toy hauler - a keystone hobbi. We are looking to upgrade to a 5th wheel. We have a Dodge 2500 diesel short bed. I was looking at the keystone Cougar 326SRX, but don't see a lot of dealers that have them. Any reason why? What other TH do you recommend looking at? We were trying to stay below 36 feet and are concerned about weight.

I appreciate all suggestions.
I am in Pennsylvania but am willing to drive to Michigan or Indiana.

Newbie to camping and loving it!

Northwood made a Desert Fox 5th- 32' Toy hauler, and a larger 38'? untill last year, they are a tough dependable TH, but are on the heavy side.

I would look at them.

Personally I like the old style alum siding better easier to repair no delamination issues but to each their own. Love our 2013 Puma Unleashed 36' under 30K out the door ( I am sure they are a little over 30K now ($200-300)

We did want to go with fiberglass sides so the vengeance/ forest river brand is not for us

I am not sure why you would think that forest river does not offer fiberglass siding on their toy haulers. They offer a wide range of market options in the toy hauler segment...in fact more than Keystone.

Example

I realize this is across the country, but I am sure there are dealers closer to you that sell the various Forest River brands.

I would take a look at eclipse attitude. Mine is a wide lite at 31'6" over all length and 11,900lbs GVWR. We got ours for under $40,000 and its a great trailer for what its worth. Only issue I had with eclipse was with one of there sales reps. Long story short the sales rep lied to us but we still got our 5th wheel and we are very happy with it and minor warranty work we had to do.

Thanks for the advice. We did want to go with fiberglass sides so the vengeance/ forest river brand is not for us. I will look at the weight on the raptor.

My neighbor has a Wolf Pack that is almost 5 years old. He would quickly tell you that he wishes he had spent the extra money and got something like a Raptor in the first place. The WP is cheap for a reason. The majority of RVs are built in a less than quality manner, but beware the low priced ones.......you usually get exactly what you paid for and no more.

I was merely giving the gentleman an option in his price range, the length he is looking for, and what will work with his truck

Puma Unleashed

They still use the aluminum siding but I think their value is great for the money.

Some of the large dealers will transfer a unit from one dealer to another. Plus there are independant transporters that will haul an RV across country.

Don't limit your search to the local areas, with the internet you can search all across the US. Photos and videos can help to remotely look over the unit.

Another option is to attend a large RV show (like the Hersey, PA show). There are lots of new and used units to view plus cruise the parking lot, many RVers will bring their unit to the show to sell.
