We will be traveling from Lake Havasu, Arizona to Lindsay, Ontario (Canada) boondocking on route as time is short for us. (We have to be out of the states before 181 days in one calender yr).We were wondering if all the Flying Js have sewer dumps and you can refill your potable water tank there. Wondering also about these types of facilities in rest areas. We dont know where to look to plan our trip! Any info will be most welcome. Thanks in advance.

I use the app called All Stay. It has dump locations, trucks stops(with RV dumping), parks, private camping, etc.

Most Flying J's have potable water...it is on the opposite end of the island and is marked potable...the rinse hose at the dump station is clearly marked non-potable...the J's used to be free dump spots but now charge...

Check-out Sanidumps.com. It has a full directory of dumpsites including recently opened and closed sites. It is user driven but managed by the site owners. A great useful site. Good Luck

I just loaded an app for my smartphone called "mypilot". It gives you the opportunity to search for specific amenities at the Flying J/Pilot locations. You can select RV specific filters such as Dump Stations, RV Parking, RV Pumps, etc.

Flying J water at the pumps is NOT potable.

Rest stops will have signs on the road prior to the rest area if they contain a dump station. And some will have a spigot for potable water but not all do and the water availability is not noted on the sign. You just have to look around the rest area after you pull in to see where it is.

I have never 'planned' my trip around water and dump stations. 6 years and counting full time there has always been one when I need one while traveling.

so as to have the life that is waiting for us.

You can fill up with potable water at most Home Depot's, Lowes, even WalMart. Be sure to ASK the manager prior to doing so and it's best to fill up later in the evening or earlier in the morning.

You've been given info on dumps. Yes, Flying J has dumps and some rest areas do also. Use your swipe and save card for a discount. There's no charge if a rest area has a dump station.....Dennis
