I'd like to give a huge THANK YOU to Brad, the Moderator over the Truck Campers forum for his assistance with this thread.

Thanks also to RVcrazed51 for his request for this thread.

Post photos of your Fifth Wheel on this thread. Any photo with a 5er in it is allowable; any brand, any year.

This thread is generally for Fifth Wheel photos only. But feel free to post comments on posted photos.

Because this thread is very long, I will occasionally clean it up by removing the older posts that do not have Fifth Wheel photos and other off topic material. Also, please limit photo width to 640 pixels by using: width=640. Please do not post thumbnail size photos, they are just too small to see.

Register at photobucket.com (free), download your pictures (takes a while), hi-lite and copy the URL, then use the "image" icon to paste the photo URL.

Hi everybody, I'm looking to buy a fifth wheel, hopefully by the end of the year. And I was just wondering if some of you would care to post some pics of your fiver.

OK, so it tows great. How is it on stopping with the weight of the trailer, climbing hills or going down steep highways?

Wake up. The TV is not the same as in the first picture. Read his signature.

Sheesh

Actually guys the vehicle is the same truck! The first picture is all original equipment. Then I went out and spent some cash on upgrading wheels and tires, EFI Live, exhaust and air bags. It was actually my wifes idea. She saw a truck like mine that was done up nicely and asked why my truck didn't look as nice as that guys truck.

Thanks Honey!

My original travel trailers weighed in at 7050lbs unloaded. The fifth wheel comes up at 10150lbs unloaded. Even with with the extra weight the fiver tows way better than my travel trailer did. The TT acted like a big wind sail behind my truck. The fiver is smooth behind my truck and I like the way the unit drives together behind my truck. And yes I am within the legal limits of my truck...even in British Columbia.

I am thinking before I go down to the southern states next summer I am going to upgrade my transmission cooler lines to bigger stronger lines (the ones I have made up look like hydraulic hoses off a JD cultivator...yeah they will do!) and a PPE transmission cooler and Transgo Jr. shift kit. With the extra HP from the EFI live the tranny runs a bit warmer than usual in 90+ degree weather. I use Transynd and flush at least once a year sometimes twice.

As far as braking and driving down steep hills?? Well that is where the Allison transmission come in handy. The engine/tranny braking with the Duramax and Allison combo works great in controlling speed and yes I do have to use the brakes sometimes on the steep and deep, but who doesn't? Be smart and don't ride your brakes and plan ahead.

LOL! Ask my wife, I go up the hills faster than I come down them.
