Full Time Packing List?

In my investigating to see if we will sell the S&B and go full time I am thinking of how much extra stuff to pack and how much space I would need. I have a check list made for our trips now and I will start one for full timing. Below is a short list of extra (different from our normal list) items I think I would need. Please let me know if there are any obvious items that I did not list.

1) 6' Ladder or folding type ladder
2) Bigger toolbox and more tools
3) More cookware
4) More clothes, linens, etc.
5) Another Directv receiver
6) More DVD/Bluray's and CD's
7) Wife's jewelry and fireproof safe for important papers
😎 More cleaning stuff plus laundry stuff.

For cookware, we have 2 skillets and 3 pots and some casserole dishes that work either in microwave or convection oven. For linens we have 2 sets of sheets, 4 towel sets. We wash one set of sheets and put them right back on the bed. We only carry 2 sets in case the grandkids come along to sleep on the sofa sleeper. For clothes, we wear layers. One set of dress pants. Mostly tee shirts, jeans, shorts. We do laundry more often. Don't need a lot of clothes because if you move around the people at the next stop won't know what you wore yesterday! LOL For DVD's we either rent movies on DirecTV or rent them via Redbox. Use Kindle for reading. For cleaning supplies we buy the smallest sizes and multi purpose cleaners. DH got rid of most tools. Just the basics. Every 6 months we go thru everything and get rid of what we didn't use. If we buy something new we have to get rid of something old. New mind set to consider each item as adding weight vs usefulness.

There are tons of things you will find that you need.
A few we discovered are :
Crock pot, electric turkey roaster (propane oven and convection microwave too small), batteries for remotes,smoke alarms, and etc. Many kitchen gadgets. Spare light bulbs. First aid supplies.
Over the counter medicines like anti-diarrheal, cough syrups, etc.
You will need pretty much everything you have in your house unless you want to run to a store to get it and then you will either have to store any remainder or pitch it - I am too cheap to do that.

3)? more than what? is what you carry now inadequate. can always pick up cheap replacements if needed.
4) clothes might need to suit 4 seasons whereas now you probably only carry what is needed for current season?
😎 why more? what is inadequate about what you carry now. and laundry supplies can easily be picked up as needed.

Its VERY easy to overpack. You will, sooner or later, have to resist the temptation to take everything YOU THINK you'll need. Much better to get rid of it now, and pick up something when YOU DO need it.

Don't think you have to fill every compartment, you'll be overweight for sure.

Jim-Linda had it right to begin with -- pack it and weigh it. I guarantee you, you'll start with too much. Make it a six month commitment to weed. If you haven't used it in 6 months, the odds of you needing it will be slim. After 12 months, you'll know for sure.

Although we are not fullTimers, as longtimers we have found that sometimes it is better just to buy or borrow an item new, rather that trying to carry everything that you MIGHT need. An overabundance of tools can get very heavy. If the penalty in weight and space is greater than the cost, consider it expendable.

If you have access to an iPad download checklist. Great app for packing for either short or long trip. As for the rest. It will come. We have always used Corel dish ware as we hate cheap paper or plastic plates. For glasses we use sparklite. Look good, nearly unbreakable and reasonable priced if you buy by the dozen. For cook ware, we bought a full set of cuisinart a couple of years ago and love it. Good cast iron outdoors cooking plus a good Weber gas grill for grilling. Several years ago we were looking for new silverware for the house. When we found what we liked, we bought two sets. One for the house and one for the RV. New that we are full timers, we have added a waffle maker and a cuisinart griddler for inside cooking during the winter. The rest like I said will come.

Start with what you think you will need, load MH, go weigh. If under GVWR, hit the road. Guarantee you will unload some things, and maybe add something. No list will fit everyone. We have been fulltime for 18 years and STILL add and subtract "stuff".
