05 Jayco Greyhawk 31ss water filter

I am new to the site and recently purchased my first motorhome (05 Jayco Greyhawk 31ss). I have the thing figured out except for the water filter. The owners manual, which is pretty worthless, states there IS a water filter. I've been through the entire rv and can't find one. Does anyone know where it is located. I've looked behind every drawer, access panel, etc. and no luck. Thanks in advance.

I found it! There is a bypass hose that runs horizontally under the stove area. It is behind a support and just the right size I couldn't see it. The filter was either never there or was replaced by the bypass. Thanks for all the info.

Thanks for the help. I will continue to hunt for it.

Typically they are installed close to 'wet bay' compartment for a whole house filtering system or under kitchen sink for cold water filtering at that sink.

If whole hose system they can be behind a panel in wet bay compartment, next to water pump, close to fresh water tank.

While not a Jayco, that's exactly where mine is.

Our 09 Greyhawk had one way up under the kitchen sink. You had to get half your body inside the cabinet, and it was still very difficult to reach. After removing it one or two winters, I gave up and left it out.

Some of them were in-line filters and installed under the sink on the cold water side. As was mentioned it may have never been installed. I never used ours in the SENECA since it was a pita to get to.

We bought our used '05 Granite Ridge in 2007.

In the plastic case of manuals and equipment literature we found in the motorhome was a pamphlet on a water filter.

I too looked high and low for a filter for a couple of seasons. Never found one. I figure either it was never installed or the previous owner had it removed.

Our 2014 Greyhawk 31FK has the filter in this same location. There is an offset in the front wall of the large rear cargo compartment. Our filter and water pump are inside that offset.

OK, I'll admit up front I know nothing about your particular motorhome, but ours came with a "water filter by-pass hose" you installed in place of the water filter when winterizing. If yours was similar, the filter might have been removed and not replaced.

Fwiw, my '04 Designer doesn't have one, but I don't recall the manual saying anything about it.
