Are there any class B's that do not look like RVs?

Commercially produced, non-DIY, campers that just look like regular vans?

This came up in another thread, and my first thought was, 'I have never seen one...' but I guess that would be the point!

So, are there any out there, that I am missing?

In this day and age I'm pretty sure there are more Class B's than milk trucks on the road!

Or serve hot dogs or French fries etc. when we are in Mexico sometimes people flag us down thinking we are a collectivio. (Small commuter bus).

Ohhhh.... :). I had only seen the word 'stealth' used when people were talking about wanting to camp in their rv without anyone knowing they were in there -- for example, on city streets. I didn't realize it could have other meanings.

the only people who actually notice class b rv's as class b rv's are people who know rv's.

most people don't know a class b rv unless someone tells them and it hits them in the face.

over the years i kept telling the wife about roadtreks and sportsmobiles. i showed her pictures and websitew.

i still have to point them out to her when i see them.

most people just see a van

I see a plain white cargo van and I still think RV. I have a PW Traverse which is pretty stealthy but I'd like to sell it and get a high top Sprinter cargo van and keep it rock simple. Maybe just peepholes...

Naio, 'stealth' with a B means that it does not look like an RV which is mostly what you are talking about. The stealth B is not shouting HEY, look at me I'm an RV.

It is very unlikely that I won't know a B when I see it since I've been around B's and forums for quite awhile. If stealth is needed, the 170 and 190 B owners hope they are seen as having a 'Conversion van'. It will work with a lot of the population but not with someone like me or most of the folks on this forum.

Stealth means not looking like an RV.

Interesting to see what folks feel catches the eye and what does not. As a new RVer, awnings in their shells do not really say 'RV' to me. They are similar to the long pieces of 6" PVC that plumbers (and others) use to haul materials on the roof, for example.

It's funny how people keep thinking I mean stealth when I don't :). Maybe I am not articulating very well? It's just that I notice a Roadtrek (with the decals and all) from two blocks away, in a city. It sticks out. I don't like to be so noticeable -- not because I am hiding, I just don't like the attention. Same reason I dress plainly and don't holler a lot in public.

An obvious RV also seems like a target for breakins, even parked in front of my S&B.

For me it's color that sticks out. If everything -- awning shell, AC, roof vent, etc. -- is the same color as the body, and there is not more writing (name brands, etc.) or striping than regular cars, then it blends in. Although the dropped floor is also pretty eye-catching...

most roadtreks built in the last 3 years have compressor fridge.

only the 170,190 and 210 have 3 way. all the rest including zion have compressor fridge.

at night is a awning that noticeable(not out but rolled up in it's case).

air conditioners on roofs of long vans are quite commmon.

again at night (unless running) are they that noticeable?

seems to me the usefulness of an awning outweighs it's negatives-unless your a person that never uses the awning-if you use it you are glad to have it.

seems to me the high fantastic fan vent covers(maxair etc) are far more noticable
