BoB Tiffin "Standup Guy"

I had the bad experience of retracting the driver side slide while the
seat was not clear and bent the driver seat, good lord now what. I
returned our new (3 week old) Open Road back to our dealer "Mike
Thompson's RV" in Fountain Valley CA only to find out 3 days later
their quote to repair is $2200.00 "WHAT?" So our extend warranty only
kicks in after the first year. So we decided to call BoB Tiffin in Red
Bay and I was quite surprised to get him on the phone. We explained
what happened and BoB Tiffin said he would send a new driver
seat to them at "no" cost to me. I can truly say BoB Tiffin is a
standup businessman we surly lucked out buying a Tiffin coach. I can
tell you our next upgrade will be another Tiffin,
so Thank You BoB Tiffin.

I never could figure out why every Tiffin owner has to travel so far to get something fixed. It seems to me like the dealer where they buy the coach would fix any problems unless they are catastrophic defects.

Don't HAVE to go to Red Bay, CHOOSE to go there. Have had 12 years experience with dealer service on two prior non Tiffin motorhomes and always left even the best dealer service aggravated. Repairs not done right, delays in getting parts and service and just plain lack of concern for the customer. I had minor issues that prior service centers couldn't seem to "get around to" while keeping me waiting. Everything I brought to Red Bay to be dealt with was taken care of.

If I could get that treatment someplace more conducive to camping I certainly would prefer it, but as it is I will go back to CRB if I have Tiffin related issues to be worked on because the work got done right!

We are on our second Tiffin product and they have definitely taken care of our needs. Nothing is perfect but they go out of their way to see that your coach is taken care of. So far Tiffin has provided 12 years of a great RVing experience for us

When we were looking to replace our last mh customer service from the manufacture was at the top of our must have list. We researched for about two years looking for the right floor plan. Everything we heard/read pointed to great support from Tiffin.

We found the floor plan we wanted it was a used 2012 Phaeton 40QBH. Shortly after purchasing it one of the HWH jacks failed. We made a trip to Camp Red Bay to get some minor problems taken care of. While there they took care of all the minor issues, replaced the jack and jack control panel control board and reinforced the driver's front slide floor.

We are the second owners and well out of the warranty period.

Total cost for all repairs $0!

I think you will be hard pressed to find better customer service!

I hate to be a party pooper, but I have a friend who bought a new big Tiffen DP and it's been one big bundle of trouble, and getting service on it has been a nightmare. If you go to the factory in Alabama you get in line and wait up to a week to get service and are only allow so many hours of service and if they don't get at all of the problems you get back in line. The dealer service has been worse yet. But he did get some problems fixed an a independent dealer where Tiffen did pick up some of the cost. I won't say anymore

As I said there are negative stories out there, but not from lack of Tiffin trying. A new coach under warranty jumps the line when those of us with older coaches are waiting for service. It is normal to wait for a bay to be available. There is a bit of a gamble that the coach owner must make. A shorter wait will get a THREE HOUR service time. That's two techs for three hours and then you are out and at the bottom of the list for a full service bay. A longer wait gets a a full service bay where they keep working until it is done.

Coach owner's choice! They will provide guidance, but in the end it is up to you. I chose the 3 hour service and they buttoned up the last project as the clock ticked up on 3 hours! Included were changing the shower door, replacing the lousy knockoff inflatable mattress with a Sleep Number (my cost), service the jacks, repair some broken cabinetry and fix an electrical problem with the dash fans. I prioritized the tasks so that anything they couldn't get to was not a show stopper and we wouldn't need to wait for fll service to get to it.

Also they had techs in the camping area working on television issues and other repairs that did not require a bay. I can see where some people might be unhappy waiting in Camp Red Bay, but it beats the H out of letting the coach rot in a dealer's service area and not be available for travel.

The worst part of Red Bay is it is a dry county and you need to drive 10 miles out of town to buy a 6 pack 🙂 That and not much to do other than commiserate with other Tiffin owners are about it.

One of the main reasons I bought my current coach is because of all the positive stories and good will gestures that have been performed by Tiffin motorhomes.
I have had a couple of minor issues with my coach. Made one call to the Tiffin service tech, and he was able to diagnose what the problem was and tell me the exact part that I needed to fix it. I was impressed with their quick and helpful response. I hear of long delays or no response at all from several other manufacturers.

I heard about how Tiffin treats owners and ultimately bought one and I can stay in so many ways they are as good as the word about them. The only place you will hear complaints is on Tiffin owners forums. the great customer service is necessary to recover from some bad engineering decisions. We pulled into Red Bay for some minor repairs and first people we met after the campground office were the inspection crew. 15 minutes later they said we were going to have the diver side living room slide out floor replaced and the roof rails too as a "goodwill" task.

The slideout floor took 2 hours! and the roof rails took 4 hours in the rail shop and the same again in the paint shop. Thank you Tiffin Motor Homes.

I had the pleasure or meeting Bob Tiffin in person at a local RV show about 8 years ago. What a polite gentleman. I dare say most of the people talking to him at the show had no idea he was the president of the company. And to be quite honest, if it wasn't for being on this forum for several years prior, I probably wouldn't have known either.

He's just a classy guy. There are not many people in this world like him.

Glad to hear he was able to help you out.
