Just got back from trip and got them all off the front of my coach!FUN!Noticed that the windshield treated with Rain X they just washed off but had to scrub the rest pretty hard. How about coating the rest of front with RainX?Sounds reasonable!Wouldn't think it would hurt the paint then wonder should wax it first then RainX !Thought would ask as there is always somebody here who has tried things already could just do it but thought would ask first! Thanks!!

After reading about dryer sheets here on the forum I tried it on my toad and it permanently scratched the paint!!!

Thank you viajante for posting your experience on this. Happened to me also.

This warning NEEDS to be posted every time someone suggests those darn dryer sheets.

Are you WETTING the dryers sheets FIRST..:h...

I haven't run into any problems using them for the love bugs. Trick to getting them off is to do it ASAP...they are harmless when alive but secrete an acid when they die...that's what damages the paint. By wetting the dryer sheets and using an ample amount of rinse water, I haven't had any issues with the dryer sheets...I use Bounce if that matters..dunno.. .Dennis

After struggling with this for awhile someone told be the easiest way it to wash the front cap with a good car wash cleaner and let it soak for a short time using the brush to keep it wet, rinse and do it again. After the final rinse, all clean. The trick appears to just letting the cleaner do it's thing for awhile.

I use Rain X on the windshield but I just make sure the front cap has a good wax job on it. The wax seems to do the trick for the front. Not sure I would use Rain X on the paint on a regular basis.

I do love the Rain X on the windshield, our last trip I just used plain water and microfiber rag to clean the windshield every morning.

I ruined the front of my rig with dryer sheets. It was so bad that the affected area had to be repainted.

The best thing I have found is Wash Wax All. Get a spray bottle and a bug buster scrubber. It will take bugs off fairly easily and will not scratch the surface or paint.

I use Rain?Xยฎ Bug & Tar Pre-wash Gel to clean off the bugs. It is the best product I have found and much easier to wipe off with a sponge than the dryer sheets. Good wax helps even more. Randu

After reading about dryer sheets here on the forum I tried it on my toad and it permanently scratched the paint!!! Toad is red don't know if that has anything to do with it but my advice would to be very careful using them.

When I know I am going to Florida during the love bug season, which those bugs eat your paint if you don't wash them off, I put a light coat of car wax on the front of the MH and toad.

You can barely see the wax on the coach and when you arrive just buff it off with the bugs! And you end of with a nice wax job on the front of the MH all the time.
