Bully Dog for Motorhome??

A friend just put a deposit on a 2013 Fleetwood Excursion, with a Cummins 300 hp. The dealer suggested Bully Dog for more power. I cannot find any info on use of BullyDog for a MH, just see use with trucks pulling fifth wheels and TTs.

Any input? Is the dealer just looking for a mark-up in his commission?

Thanks in advance.

Bully Dog is a brand name of an Engine performance tuner. They make quite a bit of difference in some diesels. I would contact Bully Dog direct and ask one of their tech advisors for a recommendation for your application. I used a similar device on a 1999 7.3 ford dually. The result was amazing. It had a lot more power and firmed up the shift on the transmission. Fuel mileage was not effected by any major amount. The 2005 Duramax that I had was so powerful with the factory tune that I did not install one on that truck.

Make sure the tranny can handle the extra hp&torque.

There are other options! Have Cummins put a motor chip in, Gale Banks and lastly buy a coach with a larger engine.

We have used them on farm tractors and they really boosted the power. we didn't have any problems with them. I have no experience with them on a motorhome but I am surprised the dealer recommended it as it can void the engine warranty!

If you put on any kind of tuner you're going to void your warranty. That's an expensive cost for a few more HP. If you play, you pay.

The Manufactures put in software where tuners will leave a fingerprint.

If a dealer told me that I'd find another dealer. A smart one would sell you a Expedition.

I would certainly NOT buy it from the dealer.

1. Not sure you will need it.

2. If you do "need" it, you don't need to give him the markup.

Bully dog is another engine tuner. It may or may not help.

I have no idea what BullyDog is. Never hear of it.

I suspect this dealer "sells" BullyDog.
