Class C Quality Brands?

My wife and I are in the market for our 1st RV. We are leaning to a Class C, but are also looking at 5ers. Due to us not being sure I am pushing for us to look at used C's also. She'll probably override that! My question is - are there a couple Brands of Class C's that last longer and have a better resale value than others? Thanks!

Lazy Daze cost considerably more when new, assembly and materials are higher quality, if properly maintained, they'll resell for a lot more money. LD's don't have slides, styling may seem somewhat dated looking, but there will be less or no hassles with warranty fixes. Conversely, average quality rigs will need more time consuming warranty fix hassles with the dealer service department.

We're really considering a Phoenix Cruiser above the others as well. For what it's worth.

That's what we went with and couldn't be happier.

We purchased a used Born Free in Early August and have been very pleased . We were able to get about 24 days in including a trip to Glacier. Quality is high with a well thoughtout layout. A major surprise was the great customer service that Born Free gives. Answers to questions are only a phone call away and if work needed, we had them redo the caulking, they will do that.

Born Free is not cheap so you might consider looking for used. We found ours on RV Trader located just 25 miles away so it was easy to check out. They tend to not stay available very long.

Good luck in your search.

Our 2351D Phoenix Cruiser, Jack, has turned us from campers into RVers and loving it!

We bought used. I narrowed my selection to three small quality manufacturers. Coach House built in Florida, Triple E built in Canada and Phoenix Cruiser built in Indiana. There is an owners forum for all three. Check the forums out for the manufacturers that appeal to you and you'll get an education. Great info on these forums. We decided on Phoenix Cruiser. Yes it is a little narrower. Makes it easier to maneuver. Yes there is less outside storage which we can work around. It's a personal choice. Shop around and take your time deciding.

IMO, as follows. Some are only offered as B+ models.

Top 3 quality:
Lazy Daze
Born Free
Coach House

LD is a traditional design, well thought out, refined over many years, you can tell it was built to camp in. Great airy feel due to big windows.
The other two are sleeker and more enclosed feeling.

A step down is Phoenix Cruiser. They only sell narrower B+ plans, with less exterior storage than traditional C's.

Nexus looks good to me. Owners seem to like them.

Next, probably Winnebago, maybe Jayco. They each have premium and value lines, though.

The value brands bring up the end of the list. (And we own one and like it.) Forest River Forester, Sunseeker, Coachmen; Thor, Fleetwood... am I missing any?

When you see the slab side construction, including the front facing wall behind the cab doors, you are in some part of "value" territory, and not in premium territory. IMO.

I'm not saying any of the above are bad. Every one represents some proposition of quality vs. value.
Currently RV-less but not done yet.
