Class c under 25 feet w/ rear bed slide

I have just completed selling my truck & TT and I am looking at class c's at or under 24ft, but not with a corner bed. I would prefer to buy used due to cost. It's just the wife & I and the dog. We enjoy the journey so handling and ride are important. It is really difficult when you read reviews as they very so much. Would appreciate all info. Thanks Vincent

You make a good point regarding fresh water capacity. That's one of the reasons why I consider this RV as such a great small Class C -> take a look at all of it's tank capacities in such a small package ... and it can be ordered on the heavier duty E450 chassis, too:

. 40 gals are better than 26, too bad it did not have a living room slide also or a full wall slide. I guess they stopped making your 24V model some time ago.


In the link I provided above I was referring to the modern Winnebago-built 22M small Class C model - not my 2005 24V Winnebago-built Class C.

Winnebago's Winnie Minnie 22M small Class C with a full size floor level queen bed - that is not a corner queen bed - seemed to be a good match to what Vincent (the OP) was looking for. The 22M tank sizes are generous in a small Class C - even including it's 18 gallon propane tank.

Hi garmp,

If keeping the driver-side slide out, but substituting the couch and pantry for a dinette, ask what are the over-all dimensions of the dinette are. It may be smaller than you think. To get a roomy dinette, you have to delete that slide out. renotse on the PC forum did just that for their 2552 and are extremely pleased with the results. They did order the dinette 32" wide instead of 36" wide to gain a little extra floor space. Look them up and ask them for some pictures.

We used to own a 1992 Glendale Royal Classic on a Ford E350 chassis that came with an out-the-rear slide that extended to 27'. Driving length was 24 feet. It featured a center, walk around bed in the rear slide out.

with the specs as you've expressed.

While Forest River's quality can vary from unit to unit and from day to day, ours is pretty solid overall. We've very much enjoyed it for the last 3 1/2 years and will run it until we are no longer capable of RVing.

True, the slide pushes out on the drivers side, but we've always found a location in rest areas and other boondock locations where the slide isn't an issue - but it's certainly something to think about.
While ours is on the drivers side, a slide on the passenger side would pose similar issue depending on the situation.
We really didn't want a slide at all, but the desire to have a unit in this size w/o a corner bed left us little choice.

The are a number of these small Class C's like the Jayco 24c that have a full wall slide with a queen size bed. The bed folds up when the slide is in like Bob described. Everything is a trade off when going with a small Class C, like less fresh water and less storage. I don't know what the CCC is with the full wall slide compared to a non slide unit on the same chassis but I am sure it is less and that would be another thing to look at. Also there are a number of these units that have a large rear storage bay that goes under the rear bed which would be nice to have. I don't think they go through with the full wall slide, but even half way through would be a good trade off.

A few things that come to mind:
If you regularly sleep at crowded roadside rest areas where a parking spot is at premium, think about a slide that is deployed out the side of any rv floorplan. You don't want to open a slide into a travel portion of a rest area. Its possible to break down a dinette or sofa to sleep for awhile.
Floorplans need to fit your rv style of use.

If the slide opens out the rear, make sure you can also have a ladder to access the roof if that's important to you.

Some floorplans have overhead extra large acrylic skylights that allow excessive heat inside cabins. A/c units have difficulty keeping up.

The Winnebago Fuse 23T should fit your requirements. Its on the Ford Transit cut-a-way chassis withe nice Turbo Diesel . Drives like a dream and cheaper to operate than similar rigs on the Dodge Sprinter chassis.
I have seen a number of used ones offered for sale on the Winnebago Fuse Owners Facebook group.
