Dometic VacuFlush Toilet

My sister just took delivery of a new 2016 Southwind last night. We were looking at it's Dometic toilet that uses the VacuFlush system with a push button on the wall. I'm not familiar with this system and couldn't find any literature on it last night when I got home.

Here's my question....You can push the pedal to flush, but my sister was told you need to turn the switch on, mounted on the wall, every time you use the bathroom and wait for it to go from red to green. I'm guessing you can just leave it on.

When you do flush, there is this noise, I'm guessing a pump building pressure that turns the light green. The pump sounds like it makes 6-7 pumps before it's ready. The noise it makes is VERY loud and appears to be under the bedroom. It's so loud, that I think it would wake you up if you were sleeping.

Soooooo......what is making this noise and has someone found a way to make it quieter. I'll soon be helping my BIL do a bunch of new equipment add ons and helping them personalize their new motor home.

Turn the exhaust fan on then flush and take a breath. There is no additive on the planet that makes that tank smell like a field of Roses

We have a vacu-flush. It is on except when we are moving. The pump is moving the stuff when you hear the noise, and stops when it turns green. It doesn't wake either of us up at night, but we might be used to it.

An advantage of the vacu-flush is no odor. Since the toilet doesn't sit directly over the black tank, the smell doesn't waft up when one flushes. We like it.

My toilet dumps direct to black tank? I have never ever smelt any odor.clean BT correctly and use proper additive there will be no odor even when full at least that's been my experience through the years
BUT I can see this system eliminating any of that possibility(odor) but the more we complicate systems the more things can cause/become problems

I don't have one but have read that the noisy pump is a common complaint. Apparently the pump on some models was located in an area hard to get to so in their wisdom some manufacturers moved the pump to an easier access location which just happens to be under the bedroom. Some users have replaced the pump with a so called Whisper Quiet unit which isn't quiet and noticed no improvement in the noise levels.
