double sinks

I think we all can agree that overall space and countertop space is a premium in motorhomes. Then why do manufacturers put double sinks in their units (even b type)? My coachmen has about 4 inch of counterpace between my stovetop and double sink. I only use one sink at a time.

I'm considering changing to a single sink and gain about 12 inches or more of counterspace. Any drawbacks to doing this?

What you need is more counterspace in that mh, like we have!

One of the reasons we liked the floor plan of ours, counter space!

I have found my dual sinks provide flexibility when it comes to washing/rinsing dishes, defrosting meats as well as simply storing something out of the way as necessary. Since my unit does not have a full linear kitchen area, counter space can be an issue. However, between the rarely needed flip-up counter top and utilizing covers on the sinks and stove top, the limited space has never been an problem.

We have the double sinks and the little counter extension. The dish drainer lives in one sink and holds stuff for safety. The other sink is always available for washing hands/dishes.

I don't get the round kitchen sink idea either. They look quite stylish, but seem to me to be impractical and useless.

In my best Tigger voice, I resemble that remark 🙂 🙂 🙂

Actually, I'm in charge of rinsing and drying while DW washes.

I fifteenth the double sink use. I was told that this is a European look, but who knows.

We have the fold down counter extension, as well as covers for both sides of the sink.
It seems that the new trend is to go to the goofy little round/oval euro style, won't have one, if that was the only thing available, my first mod when I got it home would be to put a double sink in. 😉

We've had double sinks in both Class C's and I would want them again. Wash in one side, drain in the other. We have a cover that handles one side when we realy need more space. We're fortunate to have about 15" of counter space between sink and stove.

Make a cover for the sink so when your not using it as a sink it becomes counter space. We store items in the sink when we are on the road so they don't bounce around.

I prefer 2 sinks. In our motorhome and truck camper, I put a dish drainer in one side and had a fitted cover that went over it to increase counter space. It worked really well. In our new Class C I have 1 round sink that I consider useless. I will adapt I'm sure, but there is no place to keep a dish drainer rack that takes up valuable space. I am using a flat dish drainer which is easy to store.
